Pack on the uncomplicated idiot-proof tank and just trade light missiles with them until you run out of health. The insurance is fine and you get SRP for whittling down the overconfident interceptor gangs.

I think the best way to gently caress up a gang of 10 inties might be something like a bait ishtar in an anom, with an arazu cloaked next to it. edit wait forgot about the decloak targeting delay, they'd gently caress off as soon as it appears. gently caress. VVV edit 2: yeah I getcha, but a fully bonused RLML sac does sound kinda nuts to me. The range bonus might be ok. Klyith fucked around with this message at 22:37 on May 21, 2015 |

There isn't really any one ship (other than a perfectly-placed smartbombing battleship) that can pin down and kill gangs of interceptors; that's why they're so popular.

mikey posted:A Lach will have trouble actually locking and killing interceptors, though, and assumes that they warp to the anom at 0 and then sit on their hands for 5 seconds. A Huginn with ACs and a sensorbooster might do a bit better, but you'll only be able to catch 1-2 at a time. Depending on how many interceptors you're going up against and how overconfident they are, a pure DPS RLML/XLASB Rapier with an SB might be a better option, since it can kill an MSE interceptor in about 7-8 seconds. If I may just step in and solve everyone's problems with my finely honed EFT skills: The solution is not one, but THREE Lachesis. One remotely sensorboosted with 3 modules each from the other two Lachesis, which also sensorboost themselves with signal amplifiers, regular sensor boosters, scanres-rigs AND have an additional faction point and 5 Hobgoblins each. Group of interceptors warp in, get locked down and shot at by the main Lachesis, anything that flees gets two-volleyed before it's beyond 80km, anything that comes in close gets scrambled and torn apart by 15 Hobgoblins. You also need an off-grid booster...and implants, obviously. There, for a mere SIX BILLION in ships and implants that die to literally every other imaginable situation, I've fixed the problem of a handful of menacing interceptors priced at around 100 million isk and not at all wasted 15 minutes of my life while horrendously bored.

If the interceptors are less dumb and don't all warp in at zero, use a Rapier with a sensor booster: This locks an inty in 4 seconds and kills it in about 6-10 seconds. Decloak when you see one of them on a 5AU dscan, and your recalibration shouldn't be an issue.

Even if you somehow get caught in the smarbombing BS you should have an MJD too. If one of them has a scram they're pretty drat close... what's the range on large smartbombs? You can still probably tank them and call for theta to save you, if you're near JU. Try (not) to smartbomb them while you're at it.

Non-faction smartbombs are 6k which is shorter range than a scram even ignoring that interceptors have bonus to range. Most of the idiots flying through our space in interceptors use long point lml maledictions though

These things should absolutely not be able to fit for 2s align AND have nullification, nevermind being able to cram an MSE on for smartbomb resistance.
