Say what you will about the GOP clown circus, but having only two people on a primary debate stage like that also isn't very good, optically. If Bernie doesn't make it to the debate stage, he will have failed entirely as a protest candidate.

Bernie's position on guns is nice and all and I'd love to think that it would mean anything but I simply expect that if it became significant then the NRA could just crank up the SOCIALISM! alarm and drown out what he actually says and does. Bernie may think you should be allowed to bring a hunting shotgun on an Amtrak trip, but he also voted for the AWB and a ban on most modern handgun magazines.
