I've had a lot more work after getting my gunner to 65, and switched to my priest (who was 60 from when I played years ago). Even with its ridiculously slow killrate I've gotten to 64 in a few days, with a few hours every day.

The story quests for the 60-65 stuff gives a fuckton of money and XP, don't bother doing anything else if you want to level up quickly.

ninjaedit: also don't ignore the vanguard missions (they're missions that pop up as you move through an area) they give good xp, plus some feedstock as well. You can't quite reach 65 by just doing the story missions.

Here's a quick-and-dirty method to getting the US Steam client working outside the US (or at least in South Korea)

1) Install the ZenMate addon (Free) for Firefox or Chrome, or whatever the hell browser you're using. This allows you to pretend you're browsing from the US, and allows the tera.enmasse.com website to actually work.
2) Install some proxy program or whatever. I use Spotflux. (Free trial, $24/year after iirc)
3) Install client through Steam.
4) Start Spotflux
5) Start TERA launcher, login (It will ALWAYS bitch about Account Armor until you log in through all of the IPs registered to your proxy service)
6) Click play. Wait for the error message that it can't connect to the server. (Or, if you're lucky, it gets you to the character select)
7) Once you're at the server select screen, alt-tab and kill your proxy connection.
8) Play TERA.

Turns out, En Masse' network authentication only checks what region you're in when you connect to the login servers. The game servers themselves don't seem to give two shits once you have a session token. I guess the short answer is yes, you need a VPN, but only for the first thirty seconds.

Give this a shot.

I think they are drops in Bathysmal Rise Hard Mode and Sky Cruiser Normal Mode. I guess there's the chance in RG and BRNM, but those I know with them got it from those other two. I think, though, that they are bind on pickup, though, so they can only be turned into feedstock for enchanting if not your gear or already acquired. Not totally sure since I've not done either of those and have barely got comfortable with RG, RE and BRNM.

It goes pretty quick if you're ok at killing things and run the story line to get the Idoneal set, and do as many Sabex Armory or Macellarius Catacombs runs as you can for glyphs and alliance vault and Channel Works (also for ambit tokens) for accessories. It all adds up quickly.

Again, if anyone needs some help or a party member on Celestial Hills, let me know. I think I'll level a gunner on MT this weekend to see how the population is there.

According to my 10-hour booster timer when I hit 60 and when I hit 65 I did it in around 4 hours over the course of a weekend. That was as a gunner though just carving through entire Initiative Requests in seconds, I wouldn't expect that on any other class.

I have to say that doing the final two quests in the 60-65 area as a lancer is the single most miserable experience I've ever had in this game. The fact that the entire room of enemies immediately aggroes you and ignores the npcs has made it pretty much impossible for me to do. I've read suggestions that you get buffs from priests, stock up on healing and noctenium potions etc, but it seems like such poo poo game design. I've done it on three other characters and none of them had any issue with it, though admittedly two of them were the cheater dps classes.

The funniest thing though is that I ran into two other people in the zone just outside, and helped them through it since it was their first time. One was an archer, and the other was another Lancer. That poor poor bastard's first high level character was a lancer going into this miserable pit. I tried to explain what the internet seemed to think was the key, but he kept wiping just as badly as I was.

Edit: annnd done, piled on all the potions and buffs and crap, and suddenly did the missions without losing more than a tiny sliver of life. Hooray.

Your Idoneal gear set comes from finishing the questline in the new zone. Idoneal is the stuff that's more or less equivalent to a low enchanted "Discovery" tier weapon. So yeah, the short of it is that yes there's a very strong reason to finish it.

Edit: Discovery or Ambition, not sure which. It's basically on par with a pre +9 dungeon drop weapon.

Yeah Wrath is pretty good for a 10 minute cooldown power. A lot of my problem is with the lock-on heal, but after working with it and the lock-on curse quite a bit, the trick seems to be to start the lock-on, pan the camera around a lot, not too fast, and hope somebody behind the scrum of monsters got tagged, and then fire it. It is just janky as gently caress.

- Will you be buying/selling endgame gear? don't need Trade
- Will you be forming up for endgame dungeons? don't need LFG

Make sure that you pick up the bonus range glyph for Titan's Favor, as it helps a lot with snagging people on the other side of bosses. While it's less obvious right now, you generally want to stay out of combat as much as possible (so not using Metamorphic Blast, etc.) so that you can move quickly to get into position to throw out heals/drop motes. It's not really necessary until, like, 50+, where everything starts hitting really hard and you get grouped with absolute morons who cannot dodge/block for poo poo, but I generally spend most of my time just healing/mote dropping. This changes somewhat once you get to 63, since Boomerang Pulse lets you do good damage/healing simultaneously, and you can also grab the glyph that makes Volley of Curses an Endurance debuffer (as well as dealing some decent damage).

As far as Thrall of Wrath goes, get both the damage and cooldown glyphs. Especially in random groups, he's absolutely indispensable for turning around fights and blowing up dangerous bosses quickly. I had at least four Skygarden runs where I managed to not eat poo poo after someone aggroed the lion men patrols and I just ran around until Thrall was up, summoned him, and cleared the whole group while my party was taking a dirtnap.

 Came here to make this exact post. Zolyns room was fine so long as you don't use Rallying Cry but the confrontation with the archdeva was miserable. I failed it so many times I ended up tediously pulling each mob in the instance one by one and killing them before starting the escort, then buffing myself with any/every powerful consumable I had.

Even worse, his spawned mobs don't despawn so let's hope you still have enough juice left after the cutscene.

AND if you die and didn't bother to run to the catacombs teleporter (and why would you the first time you quest there) it sends you back to the airship camp, but won't let you use the airship again lol, so you have to run back to the fort and into the instance from the very start of the zone.

Yeah I haven't actually tried to do damage in teams since like level 25. I don't even bother with the damage->mana AOE because I run the mana aura and everyone is full all the time. Sometimes I'll have thrall of protection out but honestly it's more of a problem than something useful. And yeah regarding Wrath last night I actually did get to rescue a team in Labyrinth of AGHAGHGH when one of the bosses had killed 4 out of 5 of us (me included) - I rez'd, cast Thrall of Wrath and it did about half of the boss's health.

Soloing is not great but it's entirely safe so at least there's that.

So I was just following the story quests and got to Labyrinth of Terror.

It said my ilvl was too low to go in so I went to fix it.

Then it told me my character was 1 level too high and I couldn't queue for it.

Ok fine, ill just grab someone lower level and queue with them, no not allowed to do that.

No solo mode for it, solo modes don't even progress story quests (WHY?!)

Thought about waiting to level 60 and just using the Blast from the Past system.

Labyrinth of Terror is not part of Blast from the Past.

Blast from the Past was removed from the game a few weeks ago???

gently caress you, ill just solo it! Nope, first boss has a debuff that completely locks your abilities for an entire minute. (This would have sucked to do alone anyway)

Resort to 2004 mode and shout out in LFG/Area channels for an hour.

Run it with a group of 3 that actually went super smooth.

A 65 can queue for 60 dungeons while a 59 can't queue for a 58 dungeon that drops 60 gear? Someone hosed up rearranging the dungeons.

If I had to complain about one thing it would be being locked out of Dungeon queue's when I reach a certain level especially since I actually like to complete the dungeon quests and having incomplete quests in my book drives me nuts. Other than that Lancer is fun as hell and the game gets me to log in once a day just to screw around for an hour or two.

Couple quick questions though. Are the mobile vendors you buy with federation bills one off's or are they on a cooldown, and is there ever a point where people stop running in front of the tank and pulling things at random. Also if there are enough Goons plays why don't we start up our own thing or are the guild we are involved with so well established it would be stupid to do our own guild.
