dumb and gay q? a motherboard went bad on one of our servers with a SAS6ir running a RAID0. we have the exact same server / chipset that we can swap these drives to. will it simply work if i pull the RAID card and the drives and just pop them into the new server? i've done rebuild raids when the drives have failed but never physically swapping the whole thing. edit: and i will get raped + killed if i deestroy the data

well if you can take images of the disks. it may not capture RAID config info but at least there could be tools to recover if this all fucks up

well the other option i have is to keep one of the disks and replace that with a new one of the same size/brand/type. but im not sure if that will work either. i suppose i could just fail the disk and replace it or something... but im hoping to just move it

it's not me running raid0, iot's a customer at my terrible cj job also fyi, we finally just manned up and physically moved the raid card and disks to an identical server and it worked
