Just went 14-0 That feels amazing I am Squidva, destroyer of worlds. Right now I have 20 loadouts in the store, although most are locked. That's a good number of 'builds' to get started with, considering they'll be adding more down the line. Do I want to play with the nuke launcher and splattershot regular, or the ink roller? Meh, at level 11 the Splattershot Jr is still my favourite weapon and I see plenty of people using it at higher levels. The weapons you unlock leveling up aren't necessarily better, just different.

The Japanese version came out a few days ago (That's how I got the game.), and we're all on the same servers. That's also why most of the players you're probably playing against have hiragana/katakana names. Unless the english versions do something different, I don't know  .

Seeing people only use the splattershot jr and roller so far, and the maps are so big the guys with the rollers aren't necessarily winning. Had only one connection drop so far, but otherwise its going smoothly. "prepare to dye" is the best miiverse post I've seen so far, how did no one think of that pun?

That was brutal. I've been doing well with the roller and was the top player on my team that match but it was enough to make me go and try a new blaster for a while. It's a fun level, in my opinion, but yeah you have to learn what ramps you can and can't go up with a roller.

I think it ends up being moot point now that more folks are in matches at low levels, it was just a thing with playing with a lot of Japanese folks who've had the chance to level up and get better. I felt outclassed with the limited damage of the Jr, but after getting a few levels under my belt, I'm moving a lot more smoothly and have some gear to play with and the frustration faded. The .52 Gal is a ton of fun. Still not sure how to use the secondary, but that's a gun that rewards aggression with murder. Silentman0 posted:

DL this morning (NNID: Conan#3rd) and, the level gating of weapons aside (this might be anecdotal, I had just unlocked the Splatershot and switched to it, but the one game I did lose was against people at Lv 14), this is a really well put together game. If nothing else, the fact the title screen is just Inkopolis with ambient music is just nice. Though I can't help but think that every time the 1 minute left music started and got to the bit that went "Duh-Duh, Duh-Duh" that it was going to shift to "All I want" from Crazy Taxi. Got young cousins over and we all started playing minute one (was nice to tell them that they were right and the game doesn't come out for a few weeks OH WAIT IT'S RIGHT THERE LETS PLAY) played up to level 4 and two singleplayer missions. I want to just stay up all night and keep playing but I need to be in college by 9am and also if I kept playing the kids would want to play too and their parents would get annoyed.

My experience was totally smooth and flawless. Very little waiting in the lobby. I got an upgraded Splattershot Jr. with different subweapons in the singleplayer and I've been doing pretty well with it. Game rules.

I had really really bad luck, lost 15(!) matches in a row. I'll hesitantly say it wasn't me, since I was top of the board every match. But man, not a fun start to the game. Had a lot of fun in single player but have to sleep. The game owns even with my initial bad experience.
