For people asking, the store definitely restocks each day-although it can restock stuff you've previously bought. I stopped playing around 11:00 yesterday, then logged back on shortly after midnight and the stock was different.

Unfortunately this means that you can't access new levels of swag until the day ends even if you unlock them which kind of sucks.

No one man should have all that Psycho-Power.

Ok maybe I am just dense as gently caress, but I can't actually seem to get lock colour to work? I keep playing til I get the colour I want, then I lock it. Go into game again then I just always get blue or orange. What am I doing wrong here :argh:

Color lock just locks a PAIR of colors, not one of the two.

But the colour I pick(purple) isn't part of the blue/orange pair, it should be then purple/green right? But I get neither.

I just decided to get the boy inkling Amiibo instead of the whole set of 3 since I missed it on Amazon. While I hope the additional content is good, I hope I don't have regrets of waiting for the 3 pack at a reasonable price

Because "Color Lock" is colorblind mode, they just gave it an unintuitive name. It doesn't let you pick any color sets from what I've seen, just the default blue/orange.

Heck if I know, I haven't bothered with color lock myself. Embrace the rainbow.

I think color lock just disables certain specific combinations that aren't distinct for color-blind players?

The key is whether or not a combination has strong contrast along the blue-yellow axis. IE, the green-purple and orange-blue pairings should look distinct to most color-blind people, but the pink-cyan combo likely wouldn't (unless they have a less common form and can see red-cyan fine).

Or does it limit the game to just orange-blue and nothing else?

I'm having the same experience. I can occasionally manage to get things working right and separate horizontal and vertical motion, but most of the time I just shut down on one of the aspects or try to do all my turning with the pad and up and down aiming with the stick.

I just want to say this is my favorite Wii U game so far and hope that it does really well. I legit played it until my gamepad was about to die from a full charge and I've never done that before.

The only nitpick I have with it is the lack of Wiimote+Nunchuck support, but I guess I should by a Pro controller eventually anyway. Plus we got lovely pre-order bonuses in the States (really want that squid beanie GAME, well, was going to get in the UK).

I finished the single player and while fun that was way too short.

Final boss was great but really feels like there probably should of been some more levels, no campaign should only be like a hour and a half.

I wish that the difficulty level was closer to the final boss the whole way through. I still didn't die, but it was very frantic and fun, whereas the rest was mostly straightforward platforming.

In the demo everybody said that walls did NOT count. I'm not so sure, but I am leaning towards no rather than yes.

Slanted surfaces definitely count, like in the skatepark.

I know this has been answered already but here's some extra info I found around:
The score % is calculated based on overhead view, so only the horizontal component of a slope will count and naturally walls don't count at all. This has some minor implications with weapons that cover based on overhead distance vs weapons that cover based on traveled distance.
This also applies to special meter, so maps with lots of slopes will fill out a bit slower than flat maps.

I hated the new Stupid Newbie avatar so much that I bought a new one for this user. Congrats, Lowtax.
Man, everyone talking about all of the cool stuff that happened to them in multiplayer makes me want to start playing matches, but it's already 1 AM. Instead I played through the single player and all the Amiibo missions. The single player story is excellent of course. It really seems like there could be a longer full fledged platform shooter game made from these mechanics. Also, the final boss is definitely the best part!

Someone asked earlier about what exactly the Amiibo got you:

20 Single-Player Missions (replaying stages with different conditions, Boy=Roller, Girl=Charger, Squid=Speedrun with Kraken and limited ink runs)
Each mission rewards coins when completed, 19500 for completing them all once (After completing them once they can be replayed but only 100 coins reward each)
Beating each Boss Mission unlocks items:
First 3 are the unique outfit pieces
Fourth is a new Retro Squid Minigame
Fifth is a weapon reskin

Overall I'd say one Amiibo adds 2-3 hours of extra gameplay (faster for the Squid because speedruns) on top of the rewards. The boy and girl were valuable for learning the Roller and Charger as well - I feel like I understand the mechanics of each better after having used them for these missions. Especially since you have to do stuff like climb tall walls with the roller and fight Octolings in close combat with the charger. The squid was probably the most fun though due to the Kraken. Being a squid is fun but being a Godzilla squid is even better!

For people who have been playing online and buying new weapons and gear: with the Amiibo missions done I've got 58500 coins to start. How far will that go? I think I've seen in screenshots the prices for things are usually in the thousands.

Edit:

TTBF posted:

You'd expect to just plow through people like a Roller, right? However, you have to jump with the Kraken to do damage. That and the loss of traction help keep it from being too powerful for multiplayer, I think.

The Roller owns so much. Unparalleled paint coverage (all the side paths and bridges just happen to be exactly the same width), instant kills on contact, and you can flick it with R2 for a shotgun-style blast that's also great for shooting over walls.

I just paid Spike 10k for a pair of headphones, and weapons and clothing in the stores get more expensive as you level up.
