Yes. But it was in a bad Warren Ellis story so nobody cares.

He got better in issue 1 of Cable and X-Force in a pretty neat sequence where he literally "fixed" his brain.

Thanks, Rhyno! So are you!

When I was really, really young, I used to idolize Batgirl in the reruns of the 60s Batman show I watched on The Sci-Fi Channel Syfy, but have not cared about Barbara Gordon in the comics at all until I started taking notice of this stuff. I mean, the very tiny resemblence to the 60s TV costume helps, but the direction it's been going in is amazing. Plus, I don't wanna drag up any arguments about it, but the way the creative team gracefully handled the reaction to the crossdressing villian and that lovely cover was awesome, they're a really good bunch.

This might not be the best place to ask, but figured I'd ask.

I'm looking to round out my Hellblazer collection and only need a few issues (53,55,59,88 and 266). Are there any good online retailers with good stock, or should I just say eff it and go on ebay?

Mycomicshop.com has always treated me well. Prices could be better but you might be able to bang it all out at once.

The usual suspects are Mile High Comics and MyComicShop. I never order from them, since they're on the expensive side (plus you have to deal with shipping), but they would probably end up cheaper than eBay, where you'd have to pay at least $3 per issue on shipping (and probably more), since they would probably all come from different sellers.

If you want, I live near a few great comic shops, and I'd be happy to check for you. I'd charge you the exact cost plus shipping, if I connect with them.

Yeah if you're ever there and take a look, go for it, I'd appreciate it - this has been a ~2 year project so I'm not in a huge hurry. Unfortunately most of the LCS near me are new comic only so back issues are a rarity. :(

You've got mail! I can connect with three out of those five for sure, at $3.50 each, plus whatever shipping works out to be.

I'd be deeply surprised, honestly. He was horribly kneecapped out of the gate with "no, see, he's a Muslim who's not a terrorist, but he wears a ski mask and everyone thinks he's a terrorist!", and being The GL Who Has A Gun And Is On The Justice League Right Now isn't enough to get past that, let alone start winning fans.

I'm always going to love him a little for the absolutely perfect response to why he carries a gun, but otherwise... eh. Who cares.

He must've had plans for him on Justice League since he teased Simon training the JL's new Power Ring lady.

Yeah, it was just a .45 or something, and it absolutely should have been upgraded to a laser gun or, like, some sort of experimental Lantern tech or something.

That is his logic. It's just that if you're on a long mission and your battery runs out of juice a handgun with what, one clip, is probably going to be only slightly more useful that harsh language.

The reason he carries the gun -- and it's a really good reason! -- is that the magic ring can in fact run out of charge, and if your primary weapon can run out of ammunition you're a goddamn idiot to not carry a sidearm.

Then he goes and ruins it by choosing a sidearm that makes him a bigger goddamn idiot for thinking it'll help ever.

Wait, I've never heard of this guy before, but he shot Sinestro with a loving regular rear end hand gun and it (kinda, I'm guessing Sinestro didn't die) worked? He's definitely my new favorite Green Lantern
