the ioc apparently strongly want to put Twenty20 cricket in the olympics in order to boost their audience in india, but the cricket authority always refuses because it'd lose india and england a few million dollars despite practically everyone else shouting at them to do it it'd be dumb, but cricket already has loads of dumb competitions so adding another one wouldn't hurt

Its because a larger world cup means that they have less chance of an India-Pakistan game, and an ungodly number of people just watch that game so the sponsors demand it i apologise for the cricket derail
