It's cool if you aren't grinding like crazy, honestly some of the unlocks like blaster and chargers can be more of a defensive tool that's very useful in splat zones where it's very powerful when you group assault and defend an area and kills matter more, but much harder to use in turf war where being more mobile and spread out means you can get more ink on the map. I like to roll Kraken roller and Splatter Jr. still because I'm an ok shot that prefers to break thru lines and go for ambush kills and painting over enemy ink while crutching on the powerful supers they have in a pinch.

Game owns but my main gripes are 1) What is even the point of different height jumps other than to gently caress you up for not pressing the button long enough, I want to get my thumb back on the stick asap dammit and 2) just let me be sea green forever.

I just got to level 15 and unlocked the Dynamo Roller. How does anyone deal with its ridiculously long attack delay? It just makes me want to stick to my beloved Krakon roller.

I think the option to change weapons inbetween deaths in ranked should be an option. You have no way of telling what your teammates are carrying before the game starts and if it's poo poo and you're going up against Krack-on's, Aerosprays and all sorts of l33t hellguns, Nintendo should atleast let you change your weapon when you die so you can counterpick in real time.

I'll give you that land mines are useful (so are point sensors though), but I can't understand how anyone could prefer the rapid blaster over the regular one. Shooting one blast with the blaster is just as fast as firing one with the rapid blaster. The rapid blaster can fire multiple shots faster, but the blaster oneshot kills people if you hit them properly. No matter how you hit them with the rapid blaster it still takes two shots, and it doesn't fire fast enough to keep them from just mowing you down. I accidentally played a ranked game with the rapid blaster and it was miserable. I kept hitting people dead on, then getting killed by them anyways because an aerospray can kill me faster than a rapid blaster can get off two shots.

Wow, I find the two splat zones Port map to be so much more enjoyable than the single zone ones I'd played previously. If all the maps were this fun I would totally dig ranked mode. I'm the opposite and think the port is the worst ranked map. When there's only one zone or they're both close your team at least ends up indirectly working together since there's only one place to go. But on the port you're divided between two areas and it only takes one person painting undisturbed to undue all your work. You have to split up, but there's no way to communicate this or decide who goes where. Do I stay behind to defend and hope my team can push without me, or do I go with them and risk someone on the other team taking the zone because nobody bothered to guard it? There's no good answer. That's exactly what I like about it. It forces people to make decisions instead of just camping the entry paths to a single clusterfuck. On the Port I find myself moving between zones or staying and guarding one of the zones, depending on how the overall fight is looking on my map. Of course my opinion of it might also be higher because I've won the majority of games I've played there.
