FactsAreUseless posted:So does the tiny font indicate that you're muttering to yourself and nobody should read it? It's used as a kind of comic emphasis to a somewhat-aside thought. In this case, it was meant to underline my annoyance at an aspect of Iron Man 2 (that being the handling of Black Widow), since I'm pretty sure I'm the only person on this subforum who had that problem. It's a fairly standard posting technique on SA as far as I can tell, though I don't exactly post frequently and I've never posted in many subforums. Maybe it's an LP thing?

Ace Combat is pretty much all about what would be defenders/strikers in your role breakdown; the AEW&C/AGS/ECM/SIGINT type roles are all NPCs. And I feel like FATE combat could be broken out of its stereotypical rut of "build a ton of advantages then smack down" through the appropriate use of stunts or other mechanics on the baddies. For example, a big ship uses its SAMs and any gun-based CIWS both to defeat incoming AShMs and shoot down any aircraft that comes its way. It might have a high attack skill and a stunt that says that it also uses that skill to defend, and gains a bonus to defend provided it hasn't done an attack action this turn. So the only way to get the "stack up advantages and smack down" affair rolling properly is to deliberately expose a friendly to attack. (Further, since modern military formations (a) fight as reasonably large units and (b) almost never fight "to the death", that big ship is going to have plenty of FP to play with, since any escorts it would have not only further pressure the friendlies with additional incoming attacks, but keep the ship supplied with FPs from concessions as they are invariably forced to withdraw from combat.) Again, not criticizing you, just me explaining my thought process.

So I'm probably going to be getting into Morrowind again today. Any tips? Or gameplay mod recommendations? (I don't really want graphics or extra quests right now.) I tried Morroblivion for a bit (on stream!) and it made me wanna get into the real thing, after some quality of life improvements. I really can understand why people like it better than the other games now, even if I'm still enjoying Skyrim on its own merits. (gently caress oblivion though) Similarly, I look forward to the latest Elder Scrolls game, Fallout 4. The actual answer is to just stick all your spells on magic items. Morrowind's code is a nightmare of bizarrities, and one such weirdness is that magic items naturally recharge themselves while mana doesn't. Also the way leveling works in conjunction with minor and major skills is super weird and I've forgotten how it's done. As for alchemy, it's entirely recursive. Make a fortify intelligence potion, drink it, now you have better alchemy. Make a new, better fortify intelligence potion, drink it, now you have better alchemy. Etc, etc.
