Fuligin posted:I just got the game, and it seems fun, but uhh, is it normal to be constantly matchmade with max level teams entirely composed of japanese players? I'm not even joking, the last five or six games in a row I've been paired up entirely with glorious Nippon and I'm being shredded. It sucks because even if you can do well with lower level weapons these people clearly have vastly more experience than I do and I just end up being a lead weight for whoever gets the baka gaijin. At most it's like me and one other poor level 8 SOB. Sounds like bad luck due to timing :/ but just to be sure, do you select "nah" after a match? because if you pick "yeah" you'll just play with the same people again.

Fortunately even if you lose he'll pay you based on the highest point your streak hit, rather than where you are when you talk to him. And if you talk to him after getting a higher streak he'll still pay you again, minus what you already were paid, so if you reach the highest level it doesn't matter if you talked to him once, twice, or not at all, you're still getting the same total amount of coins.

Bluefin is so, so good, if only for the fact that it gives a decent reason to be a kid rather than a squid while you're on the move. I really like the unpaintable surfaces, really adds a new layer of strategy. Also, it's about time we got a map where having multiple chargers on your team is actually a good thing.

ThisIsACoolGuy posted:*shots fired* I have not been slandering cattes, hell I even posted a few of them even if I am and will forever be part of #teamdogge. It would be really easy to engage in slandering cattes, so instead I will post about the best USCG dogge K9C Sinbad quote:The crew of the Coast Guard cutter Campbell adopted a mixed-breed puppy in 1938. Little did they know that their canine companion would become a world famous Coast Guard veteran. He was, literally, a member of the crew, complete with all the necessary enlistment forms and other official paperwork, uniforms, and his own bunk. He sailed on board the combat-tested cutter through World War II and saw much action, both at sea and in port. As Life Magazine reported: "An Old Sea Dog Has Favorite Bars and Plenty of Girls in Every Port." Until recently he had the honor and distinction of being the only Coast Guardsman to be the subject of a biography! It was Sinbad of the Coast Guard, written by Chief Specialist George R. Foley, USCGR and published by Dodd, Mead and Company of New York during the war. The book made him an international celebrity. quote:Although he served honorably, he did run into a bit of trouble on occasion, as any sailor might during a long career at sea. He caused an international incident in Greenland, another in Casablanca, and was busted in rank a few times for minor infractions. As another author noted: quote:Regardless of the fact that he liked to blow off a little steam while on liberty, he was a brave and capable sailor when he was on duty. He earned the respect and affection of his shipmates during one famous battle when the Campbell fought it out with the Nazi submarine U-606. The cutter was severely damaged during the fight and the commanding officer ordered all but essential personnel off the ship. They transferred to a nearby destroyer but a tough and hardy few stayed on board the Campbell while the cutter was towed to safety, patching her hull and ensuring that she stayed afloat during the voyage. Among that few was Sinbad. quote:Sinbad meets one of his many admirers. He wore his extensive collection of service ribbons and awards on his collar. Sinbad earned each of the five ribbons he wore, just as his shipmates did. These included the American Service, European Theatre, and Pacific Theatre ribbons. He survived attacks by U-boats and enemy aircraft. quote:The original caption stated: "Every Coastie has a favorite tavern. Sinbad relaxes on the front steps of Kubel's Bar, Seventh, Street, Barnegat Light, NJ." Sinbad was well known in waterfront bars around the world and he could handle his own when drinking with the saltiest sailors. quote:The original caption stated: "A salty seafarer savoring his suds. Sinbad, known in over one-hundred world ports for his ability to consume beer, enjoys a brew at Kubel's Bar, Seventh Street, Barnegat Light, NJ." quote:Sinbad continued to serve his shipmates, the Coast Guard, and his country to the end quote:He served faithfully on board Campbell for eleven years, garnering more sea time than most of his contemporaries, before finally retiring to the Barnegat Light Station. He passed away 30 December 1951 and was laid to rest beneath the station's flagstaff. TD;DR:

So i have to steel my resolve and continue posting cute pictures of dogges and cattes not because its what you guys deserve, but its what this thread needs. quote:"ALASKAN DOG MEETS A SOUTH SEAS CAT: TWO MASCOTS ARE TOO MANY: Aboard the Coast Guard-manned LST, 'Kodiak' the dog from the Alaska waterfront, and 'Tarawa,' the cat from a Tarawa pillbox, just didn't get along. The dog stuck to the enlisted men, the cat high-hatted him and trailed entirely with the gold braids. 'Kodiak' sulked. 'Tarawa' hunched her back and spat, 'Keep your distance, big boy.' Then the LST came home for a spell and 'Tarawa' jumped ship. Not so 'Kodiak.' He's happy once more and saltier than ever. The ship is his and he's sticking for the duration."

Hey, so I haven't really played or kept up with the game in in the last week or so, since probably about a day or two after the release of Kelp Dome. Aside from the new maps/weapons and the delay of Team Dog's glorious uprising, have there been any other developments worth noting that I may have missed?

I played Splatzones, so I don't know about turfwar, but the zone placement forces a lot of close range combat but with plenty of sniper perches. Like I said, I only got to play it twice (Damned Port came up 5 times in a row) but both games were really fun and close.

The tiered style of it is great too, feels like little stages your teaming is going through. I've played probably ten rounds on it so far, I like it more than kelp dome at any rate. This is just turf war though, I haven't tried it on splat zones.

Bluefin Depot is pretty good, but that's because I've been owning on that map. Weapons with a long range really shine on this, and hence gyro controls really set you apart from twin stick peasants.

I have to say, the slander from both sides is horrendous and terrible. However, just like in politics, the slander's coming from only the vocal minority, and most of the people on team cat and team dog don't actually think that slander and false accusations are the way to go. It saddens me to see my fellow kids/squids fighting so viciously over something that should honestly bring us together in a common love of animals. It saddens me even more to know that I'm going to have to see more of this because of the fact that Splatfest was postponed. Please, think of all the innocent cats and dogs whose minds you're poisoning with this hatred. As for Bluefin Depot, it's a large, fun map that has tactical options. To me, it feels like Arowana Mall done right. Anything negative you're hearing is probably from people not paying attention and walking into the sea. Well, that and it's a bit easy to have lopsided games on Turf War because once one team has pushed into the other's base, it's hard to both clear them out and take the territory between the two bases.
