Kazaa in the day. Sometimes you got what you asked for. Sometimes you got something else. Was always an adventure.

And then sometimes you saw something that made you scream at your monitor and run for the delete key.

I still occasionally catch up on Doctor McNinja but everything used to read I either realized sucked (xkcd) or stopped updating (achewood:smith:)

i'm waiting for more issues to come out to catch up on order of the stick but as of the end of last book it was still really good. i spent an embarrassing amount of money on collecting all of its books so maybe thats sunk cost talking but i still like it.

quote:

The Syrian is a powerful contemporary novel of passion and betrayal, set against the brutal and bewildering outbreak of the Israeli-Hezbollah war in Lebanon, 2006. Nadia, a woman who has waited 13 years for a husband who was “disappeared,” finally decides to declare him dead so she can marry an American physician, Andrew Sullivan. On the eve of her engagement party, her best friend Sonia, a well-connected war correspondent, rings to tell her that her husband may still be alive in a Syrian prison. Out to get Andrew for herself, Sonia draws in the powerful head of the Syrian secret police to help her in her Byzantine manipulations. Thus begins a series of dangerous plot twists that become increasingly bloody as Nadia attempts to rescue her husband, and the border conflict with Israel escalates.

yes but just barely, and I didn't watch more than like 5 episodes total when OG toonami was on the air. i was young enough at the time I thought anime was scary and I specifically remember watching some Gundam show and thinking it was scary and boring

what I watched was mostly saturday morning cartoons and like off-brand anime like that one french CGI show and the japanese made transformers cartoons. also pokemon

This is why going back and watching FLCL 10 or 15 years later was a big holy poo poo moment for me, because it was that stuff I watched when I was 8 and hadn't seen in years
