Deus Ex 4 will probably be cool but I don't have high hopes for Fallout 4 without Obsidian around.

"We know we sacrificed some great storytelling [in Fallout 3 by allowing] the player to do whatever they want," he said. Todd Howard has his VATS aimed straight at our feels for this installment

I'm playing 6 right now for the first time and it's absolutely great. You don't even unlock the job system for like 9 hours, the game is pretty huge

I have only started playing DQ games recently. I beat 1 and 5, played a couple of hours of 2 and 3 and am now working on 6 with a cart of 4 tucked away somewhere. They're all pretty interesting (even though I gave up on 2 and 3 because a good NES RPG is still easily overshadowed by any RPG made like 3 years later). I can't wait to play VIII since I've always heard it's one of the best PS2 games ever

Find a way to emulate the SNES version of 3 with the translation patch and it holds up really well. 7 might be my favorite, but it probably says a lot about it that even though I feel that way about it I've only played it once. It's a beast of a game that took me a legit 95 hours to finish when most supposedly 50 or 75 hour RPGs take me about 25.

7 is so, so boring and poorly paced. It's what, twenty hours before you get to pick classes?

Yeah the classes should have showed up about 10 hours earlier, and the intro lasts an insanely long time. Still an amazing game though.

I hope Fallout 4 won't suck and I don't think it will, but if it does suck, it'll be in a way that mods can easily fix. That's something that has been concurrent with every Fallout game ever made and I doubt it will change with this one.

Adam Bowen posted:Except for Fallout 3 which is the only Fallout game made by Bethesda. There was no way to fix that poo poo. Yeah you're right, I just said "every fallout game" because what I meant was "every fallout game except for 3" and that's how human beings talk. The writing in Fallout 4 will be just as meh-worthy as 3's if not more so because of Troy Baker-ification but like 3 it will still be a great game regardless, even if it requires some tweaking to not crash every five minutes.

I played a LOT of fallout 2 when it was released, it was probably one of my favorite games ever. It was really something finally seeing that world in 3d, and the first time I got into that supermarket and killed those raiders in 3d, being underpowered, sneaking and shooting heads left and right, with that cinematic camera and stuff, was just crazy fun. But all of that novelty got old really fast and just like with every bethesda game it was just a slow spiral of disappointment as I realized that every quest was completely isolated from the other, there is no "world", it's just some very isolated "levels" with one or two quests involving more than one area.

Finally picked up Hotline Miami 2 and see why people were upset with the level design, but am having a lot of fun with it anyway. The story in Act 5 is really melancholy in a way that I didn't expect from playing HM, too.

The combat guy and walk silently girl showed up at my house in This War of Mine, so I'm back up to four survivors and things are looking up! Except that I can't really feed four people at once and right now they're taking it in shifts to be starving. Tonight I'm sending Silent Girl to the Hotel to rob the kidnappers blind and/or stab those fuckers in the back. The last person I sent to the hotel didn't come back

the other thing about DQ7 is that at some point you'll probably need to use a guide just to advance because you constantly have to scour the earth seeking tablet shards to open new locations and they aren't all just obviously in the path, they're hidden in random pots and crap like that
