I can confirm Yoshi's Woolly World is very good and very cute, the aesthetic took a while to grow on me but it gets more charming and creative as the game goes on. Definitely the first Yoshi game to really match up to Yoshi's Island

While I understand that it sucks that we aren't getting a new real Metroid game, it's been a decade since the last great one, so at this point I have no belief at all that a Metroid game would actually come out anyway. prime was very good, though a lot of it did not age perfectly because motion controls, having played it for the first time this year. i'm looking forward to playing prime 2 once i clear up my backlog.

prime triology collection, the only one playable on the wii u, has motion controls it's completely serviceable, and the game is good. my complaints are narrowly aimed at the wii hardware, i do not like motion controls. it did not stop me from beating the game.

I actually really like the motion controls for the Trilogy. The only reason GC version gets an edge is because it still has the sequence breaking bugs and tricks intact that require the original control scheme to utilize.

yeah, motion controls are the most 'matter of preference' thing to have ever been conceived. i don't begrudge people who like them, and prime is able to be a great game in spite of having to use motion controls imho

i heard on some podcast that starfox isn't actually developed by platinum but that they just did asset work for the overburdened nintendo studio. Anyone know if that's true? I was hype for a slippy kung fu sequence on the wing of great fox.

I'll admit that the character designs in FF look incredibly, disappointingly bland to me but I don't mind the basic idea of a Metroid game without Samus.
