i was tangentially involved with a support issue that basically involved updating environmental specs for a server to essentially say "hey, you probably shouldn't install your server that costs five to six figgies in an unventilated space in your chemical factory because there may be just a smidgen of corrosion caused by the hydrochloric acid fumes (i'm looking at you, china)"

i work in a place that deals with dirty computers. i had two come back and they had super fine dust from the desert inundating them. the first one looked exactly like the coal dust computer. the second had gotten wet and it had all turned to mud and had to be cleaned out by hand.
