Chill out, no one is taking away your evangelion hentai doujins, you just can't have a company's trademark on your work because you'd be implying that your work was done under that company. Fan art and fan works mostly don't incorporate trademarks, most people know where the original property came from without needing a logo. The real question is what would happen with nyaa and horriblesubs.

Copyright law is still dumb, because it's meant to encourage the creation of new and original ideas. But as it stands (at least in the US), it lasts for 70 years after the author's death, which serves no purpose but to give more money to corporations. e: But this is completely unrelated to Funimation anyway, so whatev. This conversation reminds me of how Anne Rice and some other people don't allow fanfiction of their works. Which is silly, because everything Anne Rice has ever wrote is pretty terrible(the Interview adaption being incredibly good is unrelated).
