The second person down is on Team Cat?

So I guess Cat was working against itself?

Didn't they say that if they couldn't find enough people fill out the entire team they would put someone from the other side in?

Splatfest was kinda a bust, imo. Three maps, one mode, crappy server issues (I can't imagine how bad it would've been if they HADN'T postponed it) and in the end it's a bullshit popularity contest. At least I got shells.

Awesome!

i don't think so, and even if they had, i find it hard to believe they couldn't fill a dog team.

I mean, I had fun because Splatoon is fun, and I liked the team aspect, but I don't think Splatfest lived up to the expectations I had. They really needed to swap out maps and modes every few hours.

Yeah, the only thing I remember seeing about the subject was that you could be matched against people from the same team if the matchmaker was unable to find an enemy team for some reason. Not that you could be teamed up WITH people from the enemy team.

Well it takes ~4 hours to max your rank, the time of one stage rotation on a normal day (right?). You've got a third map in the mix, which should compensate for the few people who are really bothered by the locked stages as they continue to play past 4 hours (:eyepop:).

I said come in!

As with every nintendo game, the red character is the first one that everyone picks, while the green character is the clearly superior underdog.

Well you see, Callie expresses emotions other than shyness and demure contentment and is therefore the inferior waifu.

Marie does have cooler hair though. ... Actually all of this is weird, can't we just like them both the same?

Holy poo poo that was invigorating.

Tower Control, 5 seconds on the clock, they are inches away from out zone. At the last second someone drops down on them and splats the person on the tower and then I splat 2 other players. We then ride the tower all the way back, overtake their distance, splat their entire team several times over, and win the match on overtime. I've never seen an overtime actually matter! Not even once!

Now all they need is something that lets you randomly reroll your main ability. Make it cost like 100,000 coins so assholes waste all their hard-grinded money trying to minmax their gear.

Can't believe people are still defending votefest and the design of it and using my being mad at video games as an excuse for apathy or dignation

Here are the results of the 3 splatfests that went on since the matchmaking bugfix:
J2 - 67 Popularity beats 33, 6% win difference in the losing team's favor
NA1 - 62 Popularity beats 38, 2% win difference in the losing team's favor
EU1 - 67 Popularity beats 33, 6% win difference in the losing team's favor

if your win percentage difference was multiplied by 5 all three of the losing teams would still have lost
67 > 63, 62 > 48, 67 > 63

I'm talking about just giving two of those teams 30 points from win percentages, pretending they have a 15% differential by the current algorithm, which is a 42.5 to 57.5 winrate split. And they would STILL lose because the algorithm ridiculously heavily favors votes.

Splatfest should immediately move to a system that rewards you 3 separate bonuses: One for team rank, one for team winrate, and one for team popularity, otherwise if you have the audacity to pick a team before the end of the 2-3 day preamble and pick the losing team, you have a low incentive to play.
