I know the feeling, and this is why I'm trying to save at least a couple side missions for the post-game. I'm nearing the end of the story, in the tunnels after the cloudburst and I wanted something to do other than hunting collectibles and listening to goon chatter. Although the goon chatter in this one is just great. I overheard a gay militia soldier talk about how his better half thinks he's on a business trip Even so, there are probably tons of easter eggs and visual details I haven't seen yet, and I'm still blown away by the art design for Gotham. The slums, the decayed Gothic architecture, the sleek neon-filled skyscrapers like something out of Blade Runner. It's just so drat good and is a treat to glide or drive through. It actually lived up to the concept art. MeatwadIsGod fucked around with this message at 08:40 on Jul 6, 2015 |

Something I didn't notice until replaying Arkham Asylum just now (spoilers for the end of this game): The container that Batman locks mind-Joker away in at the end of the game is the same holding cell as the very first titan container guy in Arkham Asylum. It even slides away behind the big doors in the same manner. Neat callback.

Sober posted:It's the remote hacking tool (the thing you use to "crack" passwords). It's one button click to work. That lets you blind the turrets. If you want to use the disruptor I believe it only works on undeployed turrets and does something with the person trying to deploy it instead, or maybe forces it to explode or something when its set up. I never really used it. It's really good because they announce when they're setting up a turret and they take a bit of time to get it and take it where they want. It's basically a free takedown.

Huh. Maybe I just need to play more main missions or something... because I'm not getting any option to blind turrets. I can use the remote hacker on an exploding barrel thing on terminal velocity, but it doesn't respond to turrets at all. I did the airship part and now need to go to Lucius Fox to track roots. Hopefully that'll be the answer.

Yeah, I'm thinking of just jumping into NG+ and going for the second half of the Riddler trophies to tie in with Knightfall 100% trophies. The city just feels...bland without militia patrols and stuff.

Nvm about the sentry guns. Just had to play more of the story. Just stumbled upon one of my favorite gadgets in the studio. If you don't find it yourself, does the game eventually send you to get it for the main story or riddles?

So, if you're like me, you spent a lot of time trying to find Riddler informants, getting angrier and angrier at why there just WEREN'T ANY RIDDLER INFORMANTS. I eventually figured it out - for reasons unknown, the spawning of new green dudes is tied in with taking out other goons. If you simply fly around the island, circling and looking for them, new ones don't spawn. If you hop in the Batmobile, and make sure to ram random cars/people, they pop constantly. I have no idea why it was done this way, I spent as much time hunting for informants as I did solving riddles. ALSO, the Subway tunnel trophies count as Founder's Island trophies. So if you're like "where are the goons to give me Founder's Island trophies", then make sure you don't have any left in the subway.

It's so drat lonely existing in a static world for so long after the story it's telling has been told. The main thing keeping me going at this point is the new thug dialogue, but even that's already started repeating itself. I felt like that was pretty much exactly how I felt, though. Everything was done, Gotham was saved, Batman was finished. Naturally, New Game Plus helped alleviate that for a while though. The only thing that I really lucked into finding was one of Azrael's batfires, because it was blending in with the surrounding neon lights. The riddler stuff is really very easy, but they did manage to throw in some that actually made you stop and look around and try to think it through. There seemed like a pretty good ratio of "grab random trophies" and actual brain teasers. Honestly though, the secret to finding collectables is to just beat the gently caress out of every Riddler goon you find, glide around the city (sometimes with detective mode on), and examine landmarks. The game makes it seem like there's so many buildings and poo poo, but look at the 3d map and you can tell that the actual important landmarks are kinda scarce. If all else fails, the police helicopters will point you in the right way. The final scene, weird as it is, isn't the reason I'd say to collect the riddler poo poo. Fighting his Riddler mech is one of the more gratifying moments in the game, and then the short scene with Catwoman afterward was one of the more moving cutscenes. Like a batpunch in the heart, the same way the Penguin stuff ends with Bruce saying goodbye to Dick. As for Arkham Origins, literally the worst thing I can say about it is that it basically rips off most of Arkham City's content, even down to reskinning predator maps as different places. But, Arkham City is loving awesome, and I was more than happy to replay THAT game multiple times, so the option to replay basically the same thing but with a different coat of paint was worth it to me. It's the least inspired of the series, but it's still good (even if I just hear Chris Redfield Batman every time he talks). You can almost think of it as a stand alone expansion for Arkham City. I've been trying to finish all the challenges, but gently caress David vs. Goliath. I've gotten to 4 tanks, and then I gently caress up...which incidentally is the exact same problem I have with the vulcan gun perfect shot achievement on the tank sensors...

Anyone found a consistent way of hanging from the police helicopters? In detective vision is says they're a good place to hang, but you can't grapple to them while you're gliding, and if you just try to glide into them you get turned away, I think maybe one time I was able to grapple up to one from the roof of a building but I was just trying it again for several minutes and it didn't want to give it to me.

The answer to What if Rocksteady made a Superman game is always going to be Smallville. Start out in the hay fields as Superman unlocks his power set and enters Metropolis. By the end of the game you're probably full Superman and you really would run into problems on how to do a sequel after that. Also that rumor that Rocksteady was going to do an Aquaman game is actually really cool if you stop and visualize what they could do with the ocean

Make it Silver Age Superman where your biggest threat is nib nose Lois Lane trying to uncover your identity. You progress through the game building an army of Superman robots and using Super Ventriloquism to throw her off your trail. The final boss is Pat Boone.
