Adam Voges has played a lot of cricket but only 2 Test matches, if England can convince him he doesn't belong in the Ashes by sledging him getting him out early a couple of times he starts to worry about his job security

I don't think anyone has mentioned it, but there's a good test on at the moment between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Watching the battle between Yasir Shah and Matthews was pretty great, and then Imran Khan getting a five-for in 6 overs. Now Pakistan are looking good chasing 377, beginning of day 5 at 230 for 2.

Yeah, I saw the scorecard yesterday. Looks pretty tasty, especially since this is a series decider after Pakistan won the first test and Sri Lanka the second.

Would you be in favour of Bairstow coming in, and Buttler going up the order?

Lionel Richie
Nov 14, 2004

Bairstow's a better batsman in the long formats than Buttler, it would have to be Root to 3 and Bairstow 5 or 6. Stokes, Bairstow and Buttler batting at 5, 6 and 7, it would be eh... interesting, one way or another.

I like Root at 3 (surely that's the long term plan?), but yeah, that middle order feels well flakey. Surely Stokes couldn't possibly bat 5?
