But Ep 3 must have been the most expensive location for 22 minutes of "is this a sitcom or isn't it?" ever made for tv. That was a nice boat. Between this show and 'The Brink' HBO has killed it with new series this go round. I love them both. Anyone else think there will be a hacking storyline due to the photos ? Do I even need to spoiler that?

I think it's safe to say that those pictures will be important in the future. Especially since Reggie is a scumbag

I really wish Ballers was one hour long instead of 30 minutes. I feel like every episode could have been an hour long. Each episode feels rushed on pacing.

All these shows have been amazing. I keep thinking TD is my fav, then Ballers, and now Brink. Each week I have a new fav. Brink wins this week, I think. I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while.

He's exactly the worst person in the world of Marcus to listen to because Reggie is smart enough to talk like he sounds what he knows about but just dumb enough to think they don't have to play by the established rules and are special. Someone already mentioned, securing the $30-40 million is by far the most important thing to do, because all it takes is one bad hit to end your playing career. I see this season playing out as a semi-victory for Reggie until the second to last episode where Marcus goes down hard and there's no guarantee contract in place. Then The Rock is out 300k and Reggie has hosed over dozens of other people.

If this show is smart, it'll continue to parallel Spencer's refusal to admit there's anything wrong with him with Marcus's feeling of invincibility. So when Spencer is finally able to face himself, he'll be strong enough to pull Marcus from Reggie's grip.

It reminds me of how a lot of shows on USA want to do serious drama but they lack the confidence, so they add a lot of levity and call it dramatic comedy or whatever. I like this more than most of those, though.

Problem with this show for me is that every character in it is an idiot, one way or another. Watching it is like mentally herding kittens, in hopes all these dumb fucks don't hurt themselves. It's sort of exhausting.

It feels like they're doing the same "Will Vince get the movie or won't he get the movie?!?" thing they did with Entourage with the "Will The Rock become his manager or won't he?!?" to pad out an already too short episode each week. I like the show but I just want things to move forward a bit faster and feel like these characters have a point they're getting to instead of spinning plates. It's a dumb fun show when things are actually happening.

For me the big thing is how Reggie always try to paint everything in racial terms. His friend is going to get tens of millions of dollars to play a game and every little disagreement brings Reggie back to the "oh so white people get better treatment in this game?" It's pretty obvious that Reggie is going to talk Vernon into not paying The Rock back the $300k. That'll probably be when poo poo really goes down. pentyne fucked around with this message at 06:01 on Jul 14, 2015 |

That guy getting hosed with is easily reaching a point where his character can either be the bigger man and management tells the rest of the team to stop or get hosed, or he snaps and beats the poo poo out of the guys that are provoking him. It'd be nice for it to go the first way, because it's down to franchise star vs. close to retired superstar on his last chance and it'd be hilarious as gently caress to watch Charlie from West Wing own a couple of arrogant punks.
