last night I got ganked by the same beggar while I was out hunting.

I got away each time by comboing him up into the air, then turning around and shooting my self via bow / spear away.

The guild has had several cart runs of 4 gold and 12 gold. The 4 gold ones always get raided and the 12 gold ones never do.

It is good.

pet training is a god drat trap

the pets will have two bars in their pet menu that show you two things

on the top is their life span. It shows 3 numbers.

The first number is how long it takes them to be able to breed. The last one is death. gently caress the middle one.

As a hunter I can breed them without other players, non hunters have to breed their pets with other players pets.

It will take 14 days for this loving duck to learn to gently caress and then have a chance of passing off their skills to their youngins.

The skill I got was more health from the female zither players song.

On the grinding daily where you just hammer mobs for 15 minutes, the mobs that glow red will kneel down when they get to 1 hp instead of actually dying, then they'll fade away after a few seconds. If you finish them before they fade away (single target), you'll get something like half of your "rage" bar or whatever that resource is called, which makes things a lot faster since you can just spam the rage constantly.

[edit] wait its even better it regens rage over time so you can basically spam rage nonstop for a minute

Tencent is the largest video game company in the world if you use end-users as your metric, and the largest software company in china. Their business model is an incredibly complex symbiotic relationship with Baidu (the chinese google that is the single most important reason for the great chinese firewall), Wanda (the largest real-estate conglomerate in china), and Alibaba (e-commerce giant crassly compared to amazon and paypal rolled into one). Tencent doesn't care to make 10 bucks by selling you some stupid hats; their money is made by installing incredibly lightweight spyware (and sometimes not so lightweight) and using the data it collects on you to market garbage at you.

Of course, you probably think that this doesn't effect you, or maybe I'm being tinfoily, but Wanda bought AMC (the largest american cinema chain) in 2012 (a large part of this is the chinese real estate market is uh, maybe not the best source of income anymore), and Alibaba and Yahoo have been embroiled in some bizarre mating dance for the past four years as well. Whatever, here's an economist article about wanda: http://www.economist.com/news/business/21643123-chinas-biggest-property-tycoon-wants-become-entertainment-colossus-its-wanda-ful-life.

Importantly, this game will not be run by a shithead trying to make a quick buck off of gimmicks, as snail might be described on a good day.

That's... Absolutely brilliant. I'd assume that if they were to release this in the West, that spyware model wouldn't work and it'd be banned due to legislation or whatever but I wouldn't be surprised if they started launching software and services over here in order to push their business to the Western markets. Given their assets, they're certainly capable of being a huge media/commerce conglomerate over here too.

Ah but VMs are also how botters try to get around cheat engines, so cheat engines try to detect if they're running in a VM. You can get the settings right so that the engine can't detect that it's in a VM, but you usually have to fiddle with it a bit and by then it will think you're cheating and ban you.

On RMT and P2W Prevention, and how it affects you:

Personal trade cap:
There is a maximum amount of Gold you can recieve and give per day(? Confirming with Chinese friends later what the reset time on this is.), this seems to be bound to level, currently Feedz and me have a 60/90 cap.
Obviously this is to prevent moving large amounts of gold, however it also affects gifts.
If someone wants to give you something that has a worth higher than what you are allowed to recieve the trade will not go through, preventing high worth items to be sold for real money, but also preventing you from giving nice gifts... no generosity allowed in Chinagame 2.0

You can check your cap by pressing the button left to your ping icon and switch to the 2nd tab of the opened window.

Note: This Cap affects PERSONAL Trade, Auctionhouse transactions do not add or remove from the cap.

Auctionhouse:
This is the wierdest part although I can see where they are coming from.

If you have an Item wich is on the AH right now for 50 Gold, and you put it up for 40 Gold, it will be sold first, even if whoever bought it selected a different seller.
To put in the terms of how Goldsellers did it in wushu , Buyers would set up a stall with a trashitem for sale for ridiculous prices wich the goldbot would buy to transfer the money.
This is not possible in MB as the bot would always buy the lowest price item.

Now this is pretty cool if you want a quick buck, you just undercut everyone and your poo poo sells instantly especially at primetime, though im not so sure I like that I can't choose to pay more for an item if its sold by, say a friend, or I hate the guy that sells it cheapest.

This is what I got so far, feel free to correct me if you got other stuff about this down, but it seems to hinder Goldselling and RMTing with small cuts into trade freedom - Communist China !

I always thought RMT was when a player goes "give me that nice item and I will PayPal you hard dongs". Those types of transactions are separate from the in-game economy and are basically untouchable.

EDIT: So I re-read the part about high-worth items and I guess it sort of addresses the PayPal thing. What determines whether or not an item is high-worth? The most recent AH listing price? What if there's never been a listing?

Yea the AH item is considered, but I dunno how first time Value is determined, never been around for a start of beta I got a key for CBT3 when it was going, and all I did then is run around and look at the scenery, I'd imagine there is a baseprice for an item the AH suggests to you for the first time.

KOS posted:

these contents are already in the test server and will hit live servers this week(at least some of them):

1) firstly theres now (finally) PvP contents for constable players, players done carriage hijack will have a debuff making them "catchable" for constable players. Constables now can use the professional skill "arrest" on these players when their health is below 25% which once successfully done will send the caught players directly to prison, the debuff will also give constable players a 20% attack damage advantage in the PvP.
this hopefully will solve the problem of currently high level players constantly robbing carriage of low level/new players for easy income. very interestingly tho theres no direct gold reward for arresting hijack players but rather some minor Reputation rewards, as there are already players selling hijack buff(for a smaller amount of gold the said players will hijack you and intentionally fail the hijack in order to gain the buff that in a certain amount of time the carriage cant be hijacked again), it can be imagined and interesting to see how escort players will now negotiate a deal/payment with constable players for some real escort job.

2) meanwhile treasure hunting/digging will be more PvE oriented so to solve the problem that there are players constantly trying to rob treasures digged up by Wanderer players, players now will have to compete in the speed of locating and digging as once being found and digged the treasure will be bound to that player,,, rather than killing each other then the treasure from burglar NPC.

3) assassin contracts now will hide its level, this hopefully could partially solve the problem that it being too hard to even get a contract(all out within 1 sec of refresh).

4)long waited taibai buffs are finally here!

5)other minor ones including improved guild interface, custom guild badges, player class directly indicated in chat window by color, etc.

ok i slacked a bit on the later ones, but we will get details when they hit live servers!

Guild events are locked behind a donation and time system.

From 1200-2400 china time, this button appears on that frame. If you click it, it will send you here.

You need to have 5 minutes between donations. This requires crafting materials and in return you get meridian cultivation which isn't bad. The materials required are randomized.

Once we get that built, we can get access to new events, but that building takes 270 donations or 27 people donating 10 times.

One of the features I've liked about this game is that new players can request help if they die in a solo instance.

Higher level players see a sword above their minimap that starts to glow. They can choose who to help and get rewarded for it.

You get teleported into their instance and then just destroy lower level npcs.
