For anyone who has wondered how many of the new episodes are mythology and how many monster of the weeks, Carter just revealed that it's going to be 4 motws and two mythology eps (the first and the last) Which means that Carter will probably write one motw himself. And for those who are dissapointed about the number of mythology episodes, Carted recently talked to Nerdist Writer's podcast and said that every episode will contribute to the arc that the characters go through. I thought the 24 miniseries was just more of the same, nothing to be excited about, but more and more I get the feeling that this is gonna be different. At least it feels like they are trying to do something special here. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that every writer will direct their own episodes. I wish they did a little more to make Gillian Anderson look like Scully. She still looks great for sure and I know they're older now but it's not that. She doesn't look much like Scully, not sure why. Hair color I guess? Pretty pumped nonetheless.

YEAH KUMAIL! In some ways it feels like he set this revival in motion by being the first to get people talking about the X-Files after a long silence. Yeah a 90s nostalgia boom is blossoming more generally, but it couldn't hurt that he was calling up so many people who worked on the show and getting them to talk to each other.
