yes, that's what MS intends for training purposes now. they made the trial periods a bit longer but no more technet, no more perpetual license abuse

how does the gesture thing work? do you need to use setpoint to have them work? can you remap the buttons into the mouse itself and go without setpoint entirely?

one of my favorite features on the mx1100 is that i could remap the dpi rocker to be a volume control, but it's dependent on setpoint (which i dont have on my work pc). i think i might really miss that the entire switch would be gone on the mx master, and it sounds like the g700s would not only have the buttons but also allow me to program the remap into the device itself

the battery life is a compelling reason to avoid tho... hmm

sql server express is basically sql server standard w/ a 10 or 20gb db size limit. the sql server development tools add on for vs is freely available but I'm not sure it will run under community edition. I think it needs pro but you could definitely try it and see. that's what you'd want for doing SSIS

you push the "hidden" side button and move the mouse in a certain way. i personally don't use the feature

you can't remap buttons into the mouse, that's really a gaming-mouse kind of feature. also neither the G700 nor MX Master actually use Setpoint, the G700 has some crappy "logitech gaming software" thing and the MX Master uses a program called "logitech options". the logitech options program is something new and kind of weird, it's very streamlined but offers less options than setpoint or the gaming software and i'm really not sure why they made it

it sounds like you might actually want some of the gimmicky features the G700s has, but i'm gonna warn you the battery life is spectacularly lovely, like 3-4 days vs 2-3 weeks of the mx master

i'll just use the eval copy of sql server 2014, 6 months is more than enough time for my purposes.

you can buy physical adapters for like a buck: https://www.cablewholesale.com/products/keyboard-mice-cable/ps2-at-adaptors/product-10i5-012hf.php

the ps/2 and AT keyboards use identical signaling, just a different plug type.

you need to take the maximum mtu of your network and subtract all the various crypto headers from that and put that as the max mtu for your SA.

do you know if you can set an MTU on the sa in some stronhswan config file or is is something that needs to be set on a network device? anyway I'll try that out tomorrow, sounds promising
