BurningBeard posted:Hey dudes. So I'm way into crusty OSDM/punky stuff like Black Breath and Trap Them right now. Where should I go next if I like those two? Call of the Void, Nails, Dead in the Dirt, early Entombed, Occult 45. Just in case you like that Swedish Boss HM-2 sound then I'd also check out Dismember, Interment, Nihilist, Carnage, and the old Crematory demos. Awesome! You guys are the best. Already a big Entombed and Bloodbath fan. I know Dismember too. I'm looking for more out of the way recommendations, but there are a few that I've been meaning to check out that you guys mentioned. Call of the Void and Occult 45 are the only ones that I straight up haven't heard of and they're great. Thank you. And yes, that tone is a big part of the draw for me, but it's more the raw vocals and the dynamic songwriting. Like I can't get into grind, for instance, if it's straight-ahead blast all the time. Gotta have some groovy and slow transitions in there. Apropos of nothing I'm going to see Cattle Decapitation at the end of the month in Chicago. God help me every other band on the bill loving blows. Someone please tell me Cattle is gonna be worth it because they've been on my list for a long time.

It's more on the doomy side, and the vocals aren't quite the same style, but you might dig Temple of Void. Somebody posted them here last year, and they're pretty loving killer. Got that fuzztastic guitar tone too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wu3XqpWCrQ

Speaking of fuzztastic guitars, I sincerely hope this current 70s retro trend isn't gonna end anytime soon, because there's a new song out from Orchid and I loving love this poo poo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lreXQQEPbdY

So weird. I was just jamming Orchid this morning. Yeah, that's a trend I can get behind too. So much retro seventies stuff coming out here lately, and so much of it fronted by women with major pipes on top of that. Good stuff. Temple of Void loving owns. Don't think I've yanked out my credit card that fast ever. Thanks again!

I'm enjoying the new Coal Chamber album and I don't know if that's a good thing. The lyrics are still completely angsty and dumb, but there seems to be a more industrial edge than Dark Days.
