Electric Phantasm posted:Can I get a few more impressions for TTW? Fallout 3 keeps crashing on startup no matter what I do and it seems like my only option is TTW if I want to explore DC again. If you want to make Fallout 3 vanilla to stop crashing, you MUST modifiy it to only use only two or one CPU cores. Any more and it will crash pretty much the moment you come out of the womb. Installing the Updated unofficial patch helps too. The game is still a bit crash happy when people seem to comment on you knocking over stuff though. With TTW, I've kept it pretty much vanilla aside from TTW bugfix patches, making followers and canterburry caravans essential, MCM, the weapon modding mod, and some additional bullet making recipes. I've crashed about two times in total since then. I like it, but it seems like there are some things that don't play well and weird buggyness results. Random encounter enemies sometimes spawn in the middle of Arefu, which might wipe the whole place out. Laser commander perk shows up twice in the list when choosing. Most of the books in the capital wasteland have been turned into magazines, but that's okay really. They have a bunch of optional files you should look into as well, such as giving bobbleheads different perks and toning down super mutants in the capital wasteland only (Which I would suggest, cause trying to do the GNR plaza at low-ish level even with it on I was barely hurting them). Sneak attacks on feral ghouls gives good karma for some reason. The biggest problem is that for some reason, they saw it necessary to give Talon Company/Regulators super combat armor that never existed in either game as far as I know. So pretty much after your first meeting with them you have armor worth thousands of caps and some of the best in the game(in the regulator's case). I've been using the same armor that I took off their bodies at level 7 or 8 and now I'm level 25 and I've not seen anything better outside of power armor. It really breaks the game economically (and difficulty wise if you care about that). And now that I've become both too good and too evil I've got both on my rear end constantly. Another problem is that killing any of them garners positive or negative karma, so you just wind up in a deeper hole either way. Other than that, TTW is great and worth the headache that is discerning directions from people who think you already know what you doing so they leave the details out. Thank god their installer is automated now, so it is super easy to get the base TTW set up. Broose fucked around with this message at 17:01 on Jul 17, 2015 |

Thank you both! Also I tried everything and Fallout 3 just didn't want to start, until I made that post. I don't know what I did different but before I did the installation process for TTW I gave 3 another try and it started up no problem, granted I did quit after the title screen popped up, but still weird.

So I've been wondering, are there any retextures of the pip-boy background? I'm not speaking about the pip-boy itself, but rather the really blurry screen background: See? It looks awful. Thing is, I can't recall it looking that bad before, so I might just have accidentally broken something at some point. ThaumPenguin fucked around with this message at 01:45 on Jul 18, 2015 |

I'm using the latest version, and it seems to be installed correctly, so I don't know what this thing's on about. Any ideas? Also, I can't seem to launch the game at all when I install Mission Mojave: Ultimate Edition. Once again, the install seems fine, I can see the ESP file...

Not installing MM is probably a good thing so just axe that nonsense. It is not actually a good mod. As for the NVSE thing - you have both NVSE 4.5.7 or greater (http://nvse.silverlock.org/) and the Lutana plugin (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55399/), right?

It is listed in the Required Files on the Nexus' page, but maybe if you downloaded it through a mod manager that pop up is skipped?

Agents are GO! posted:ShilohDS Clean Pipboy Screen. This seems like a decent replacement, but I can't get it to work, the only option that seems to work is the one that removes the map tinting, but I don't mind the map tinting, so it doesn't really help. Here's what happens when I pick the options I want: The low-res background is still there, no matter which options I pick, and I don't know why. I've tried disabling and re-enabling MO's Archive Invalidation feature, but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. I assume it has something to do with the warning in the fomod screen about the Darnified and MTUI compatibility versions, but I'm not sure how to read it. I tried the standard non-compatibility version as well, but it didn't change anything other than presumably breaking something in the background. If I recall, the Pip-Boy uses mipmaps. If your mipmap quality is set low in your graphics card's options, it looks blurry.

For anyone who uses Reinforced Chinese Stealth Suit, what would be the best solution to fix the issue regarding the Rebreather not working because one of the mod helmets breaks the scripting? I'm thinking about just dumping it and trying out Legacy of X13, though I have to bug test that because it has its bug fix for the stealth suit that YUP provides.
