Yes Mr. Libertarian, I'm sure Donald Trump neither likes nor understands capitalism, and this whole thing isn't just pathetic in-group/out-group posturing supported by the merest suggestion of actual facts.

"The conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who has a substantial following among grass-roots Republicans, came to the defense of Donald J. Trump on Monday as prominent leaders in the party stepped up their criticism of Mr. Trump’s pointed comments about Senator Sen. John McCain. Such a defense is not entirely surprising, since Mr. Limbaugh’s distaste for the Republican establishment is deep and well documented. But the supportive words from Mr. Limbaugh may provide Mr. Trump with the inoculation he needs to survive the scorn of the party’s elders long enough to be included in the presidential debates." If anyone likes following the 2016 horse race (basically everyone here), I'd recommend checking out With All Due Respect. It's a daily 30 minutes that Bloomberg TV airs with the guys who wrote Game Change, Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. They're doing a pretty great job getting interviews with all the candidates, and it's presented in a way similar to Pardon The Interruption (if you watch ESPN). Overall good stuff for those that can't satisfy their 2016 appetite enough. They put their episodes on YouTube now too. Today's episode had interviews with O Malley and Cruz. Also they have interviews with Trump pretty much every day (I think Trump must owe Bloomberg one or something, because they ALWAYS have him on). Slate Action posted:If Trump ran as a third party candidate, how much of the national vote would he have to earn to seriously damage the Republican candidate? Would 2-3% be enough? The GOP quite literally cannot afford to lose a single vote to a third party if they want any chance at the White House. Short of the Democratic candidate burning the flag on a pyre of bibles the Dems have a pretty big vote advantage just from demographics. Trump taking even 1-2% means that even a depressed turnout should have a win on a similar level to Obama in 2012. If Trump took 10% or more of the votes in the general election almost all of those would be people who would've voted for the GOP otherwise, giving the Dems a potential Reagan-grade landslide. A downside is that if the 46-30-20 split happened you'd have the right wing emboldened as gently caress because "well if Jeb/Trump hadn't run against the other guy we'd have beaten Clinton" would be their narrative and the "silent majority" would be, in their eyes, verified as a real thing because Hilary didn't get more than 50% of the votes but the 2 right wing parties combined did.

The CEO of Uber was praising Obamacare and the 'liberation' of being able to buy healthcare independent of employment. Hopefully Bernie sees how to us the 'sharing economy' as an opportunity, not an obstacle. But if it's coming from Hillary at least we know it exists even among 'serious' people.

Two things you have to give Trump credit for is he is an absolute master of Twitter, which is arguably a more effective method of campaigning in 2015 than retail politics, and that he never. stops. talking. So he gets his message out instantly (having near 100% id and 3+ million twitter followers helps, the other candidates can't compete with that), and if he does say something offensive, by the time it's been reported and the media is trying to craft a narrative for it, he's already framed the subject himself on twitter (nuancing his 'Mexicans are rapists' argument, changing the McCain diss into a critique on treatment of vets), and moves on to the next thing. He's so fast. So yeah, while he's still not a "real" candidate in that he has 0 shot at winning the general, he's running circles around his GOP opposition. None of them combined have said a single newsworthy thing in weeks, other than responding to the latest thing Donald Trump has said. It's glorious.
