For all the rightful concern about income inequality for most American's this isn't such a bad time, the economy is doing well, we have low unemployment, lots of people can afford healthcare that couldn't before, violent crime is down. They won't matter because their votes will be siphoned to a third party and more will be siphoned from Bush than Hillary, not because they are small (although they are pretty small as well, they are also large enough to matter in the right situation). This was brought up specifically in response to people being amazed that Hillary loses what appears to be 8% of her supporters to a third party Trump and how they couldn't believe anyone would switch from Hillary to Trump - I was merely explaining some of the mindsets that would make that switch, not saying they are yooge portion of voters or anything. It's a large enough portion of voters that if they all poofed tomorrow, Hillary would be nearly tied with Bush in the polls instead of beating him hands down.
