If you must blink, do it now.
I actually think it'd be neat to do a(-nother?) recommendation swap similar to how Srice had his comfort zone thread set up.

Man, I still need to finish Utena. I got 5 episodes into that and 3 into Gainer, and then I got distracted by a lot of things after that. At least I'm almost done with Zeta Gundam.

I thought everyone already knew this? Well, my little sister knew everything about the show so it was just one of those things I felt the need to tease her about all the time.

As someone who's already watched the Castle of Cagliostro, Jigen's Gravestone, and is set to finish up the Woman Called Fujiko Mine this week, where should I look next for more Lupin?

honestly ADTRW's pretty good about that looking back. there's a few clunkers each year (ramen fighter miki???) but for the most part all the anime are pretty memorable.

Ramen Fighter Miki was okay, but it getting made at all is kinda weird in hindsight.

There might be a new TV series this fall.

August 29th actually.

I remembered his review on why Inuyasha sucked so much.

I remember someone asked in another thread about why the nostalgia critic was going to an anime convention in finland, wondering what he'd even talk about, and I joked that he'd talk about the time sage made him sit through anime porn for one of his reviews. Then I found out sage did that more than once apparently lol

I don't think she's still a hardcore christian, like in that CHAOS DRAGON show which paraded a series of crosses and ruined churches in front of the screen, her review didn't mention a single one of them.

I think she, Nick Creamer, Gabriella Ekens, and Laura Orsini are some of the better reviewers on that site. Theron Martin of course has hilariously bad taste.

Heads up: a "preview" of the new season (some cuts, dubbed live by the italian voice actors) was shown last Saturday at a comic festival in Italy.

The new season will premiere on Saturday, August 29th at around 22.00 - 23.00 hours italian time on the Italia 1 channel, and it will air every Saturday at that time afterwards.

(Italia 1 is a public access tv channel, I don't think they're showing it anywhere outside Italy but it's extremely easy to find somewhere on the internet to watch it live.)

They've also released the new OP for the italian dub. It's super bad.

How did Chu2 S2 ever end up anyways? I remember people talking about it a while in the beginning but then it sorta dried up halfway through.

Everything involving the leads sucked a lot (And I say this as someone that really liked them in the first season), but the episodes about the side characters were good.

Basically I ran a thread where I challenged people to watch something that they normally wouldn't touch (Different genres, something older than what they normally watch, etc etc). And some folks did that and it was a fun experience!

From the way this thing is phrased I think it would be like a secret santa sorta thing but with anime recs? And I think that would be cool, and we could find out how people really feel about each other, haha.

Inuyasha is really derivative of Ranma and is mostly just kind of lame and inoffensive, but it was one of the first dubbed anime a lot of Americans watched that had things like relationships and butt touching

That's the whole discussion

That seems interesting. I know there's a ton of stuff that I haven't watched because I keep hearing are overly depressing (Grave of the Fireflies), make me cringe too hard to read (Onani Master Kurosawa), never felt the need to despite their near universal acclaim (Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, NGE, LoGH, etc.), and so forth.

I have been trying to read some shounen ai / yaoi though after having avoided it for years. Only found 1 manga I liked so far. Granted, I haven't been looking very hard.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Some kind of white elephant recommendation exchange.

The trick would be making sure people got stuck with shows they hadn't watched before. I'll have to give the logistics some thought.
