Trump is doubling down on mocking POWs. I mean could you pick a more sacred cow than ARE TROUPES? This is going to be so good.

People only really support The Troops as an abstract concept of GI Joes that fight some foreign Cobra for Are Freedoms, or as something to hold up as a symbol of moral superiority when you want to look down your nose at someone else. You give an actual face to any of them and then you have to think about Halliburton's war profiteering and how much the VA fucks veterans and how many of them come back dead or missing limbs or otherwise irreparably damaged and then it gets uncomfortable, so we prefer to sweep all that under the rug.

At first I just thought "we shouldn't be giving so much attention and air time to Trump. this should be a funny joke, but it's just depressing." But now I just think Trump is amazing. He's a national treasure. He's like Palin, Ted Cruz, and Herman Cain rolled into one; plus Romney's crushing privilege and Mussolini's pomp. He may be doing more in exposing much of what's so screwed with our political process than Colbert SUPERPAC ever did. It's so enjoyable to see his rivals be all like #notallrepublicanhopefuls when Trump is the pure id of right. Even when Trump ends up losing the nomination; we're still going to see Trump fight all his way to the Republican Convention and beyond. I'd love to see Trump make a deep run as much as anyone, but I suspect he's going to find better things to do around the time he has to submit his financial disclosure forms. No way does he want every reporter in the country trawling through his finances.

Yeah but you would also think not insulting an entire race or veterans would be something obvious to avoid doing in front of reporters too. I just want Trump to become Republican Nader.

It felt like watching two old friends talk, it was fun to me. You could totally tell both of them are in short timer mode. Its also insane how much older Obama looks compared to the interviews he did on the daily show from Month of Zen. Jon looks like he aged a lot better, comparatively. Also the extended interview on the web was in ADDITION to the 19 mins main show interview, it was almost another 18 minutes! I watched the nightly show after for a bit, been a while. Still an utter trash show, Larry is awful and 50 Cent was one of the guests and mumbled answers that made almost no sense. Judd Apatow was pretty funny though. I wonder what kind of contract Wilmore has.

It was particularly cool when the female guest explicitly said that she would be ok with performing sexual favors for career advancement as long as she wasn't drugged and Larry's only commentary on the matter was the word motherfucker which might have had some weight 40 years ago.
