Cats rubbing their heads upon something is their way of saying they own it. So that cat owns that horse now.

They actually have expensive robotic versions for old people to sit with, pet and talk to. Don't know how that reflects on our culture, but apparently they are happy with it.

They do it with people too. It's a way of showing affection, and of marking territory.

This is Dexter:

Unfortunately, he's not doing too great right now. On Monday I woke up and his back legs were paralyzed so I rushed him to the vet. The vet gave him some pain pills and muscle relaxers which helped a little bit (he can walk now, he's just very wobbly), but now he's got really bad diarrhea and blood in his stool and he doesn't want to eat anything. I'm really worried for him, you guys.

I'm so very sorry, that Dexter isn't doing well and that you're kinda stuck helpless. Are there any cute things we can post to take some of the sting off? Would you like to tell us more about Dexter?

Aww, thanks you guys. Dexter seems to be doing okay. I called the vet and she said that the pain pills were giving him diarrhea and the muscle relaxers are making him wobbly and she recommended to discontinue the pain pill, so I did. He finally ate something this morning (chicken) and drank some broth (chicken stock), too. So far he hasn't had any bad poos and he is slowly getting back to his regular self, but he is restricted to his crate for most of the day because I don't want him to stress his little legs out. Just gotta keep looking up.

I had a cat who would carry knotted socks around as if they were her kittens; she'd make nests for them and everything. She'd pick up one and carry it downstairs, looking back and calling to the other ones to follow.
