Dillbag posted:Here's an article about the Revenant shoot being terrible for everyone involved. While it's true that sacrifices and hard work can help make a good film, you don't need to be a tyrant and treat everyone like poo poo during the process - it really doesn't help anything. This article says filming hasn't even wrapped up yet?

It's because Canada had a record-high Winter temperature and they couldn't get the snow shots they wanted. They're shooting in Iceland or something to get the final shots.

The Peccadillo posted:Explicit trailer for Gasper Noe's Love I had heard about this a while ago and I figured it was going to be a shitshow, but who knows. I think it's admirable that Noe's approaching sexuality on film in a way that's not prudish or preachy, with at least some characterization and substance. I'm reminded of Zizek talking about pornography as a censored genre https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOuU5siwdSQ That said, even though Irreversible was amazing, Noe has very little tact...as the whole "In 3D" thing demonstrates. VVVVVVVVVVVVV Nothing, that's what I meant. He's not tactful at all, which really served him for Irreversible, not so much for Enter the Void or I Stand Alone. ...what exactly about Noe screamed "tactful" prior to this? Dude makes stuff that's simultaneously great on an artistic level and lurid as all hell, like a modern-day Fulci, and that's part of his appeal imo.

Alfred P. Pseudonym posted:It's gonna own when this movie swings the election and we get stuck with President Trump That was, no poo poo, my first concern when I heard that Bay was doing a Benghazi movie. But reviews of the book are across-the-board terrific on Amazon, haven't found one in my admittedly cursory search that sounds like it validated a right-wing conspiracy nut. Plus I don't think John "Promised Land" Krasinski signs up for a role in teabagger propaganda. Especially when that role requires him to be in Navy SEAL shape, and the director describes himself as "your worst nightmare football coach" when he shoots action scenes. Of course, I could be wrong about all that. And my second concern was that the last time he shot a war movie, it was Pearl Harbor.
