I got my fat Chocobo and Coeurl by upgrading my regular version to a Collector's edition. Because I'm a little sad. I am currently on Exodus. Should I pay the $18 to transfer or doesn't it really matter below 50? It seems like you mostly solo stuff at this level.(29) I got invited to a nice guild of nice people but their chat can be a little weird at times. Not goon-weird but "people who play WOW weird". They answer questions with gusto though, which is nice but most of the time they border on cybering each others cat ladies and I end up being all

The Goon FC on Exodus is <ZEON>, get in touch with someone from them and I'm sure they'd let you play. If you don't feel like going to Excalibur and want to slum it on Exodus, Fairy, T4C, Trust or Order (my FC) are all pretty good choices if your current FC doesn't work out. I'm Madain Sari if you do decide to stick around, send me a friend request and if you need any help gimme a yell.

Is there a goon linkshell on Exodus? I'm already in an FC, <N-Sky>, which I don't want to leave because I've got friends in it, but it's not the most active group (to be fair I'm also a filthy casual, there's just not usually enough people on to run dungeons or trials together), so having some more people to play with would be nice. Character name's Zack Ater if anyone wants to shoot me a message.

Mordiceius posted:Has anyone hosed around with specialist actions? What are your thoughts on them? Nymeia's wheel is AMAZING. The others all have at least some form of use, too. The big issue with specialist actions is that high-level crafting recipes seem to have a massive drop in good/excellent proc rates, making it kind of hard to use Whistle-related stuff in general without either some considerable luck or consuming delineations.

When I'm tanking, I tell the other tank which Jagd I'm going to pick up (either by really, really quickly marking them, or just referring to the "front" and "back" Jagd; they generally get the picture) and we then split the two up to opposite sides. The #1 run killer on A2 is a single tank picking up the two Jagds with few/no cooldowns and unprepared/low MP healers suddenly seeing a single tank's health vanish in a few seconds from the cleaves. Also, what's making you run out of MP? Are you a WHM/AST? I've done the fight multiple times on SCH and have almost always come out the other end with several thousand MP remaining, even while DPSing, unless I muck up and forget to mash the Aetherflow button every time it's up.

To be specific, at 59 all seems normal, and level 60+ recipes have a steep drop-off in the good/excellent proc rate. I basically agree with the assession of specialist actions--Whistle While You Work is on its own underwhelming, but it enables Nymeia's Wheel at level 57, which is the real jewel. The Heart of the X skills seem very, VERY useful for the 1-2 star recipes due to low good proc rates. The other specialist actions have their uses, in particular, there are ways you can use Trained Hand to save durability and steps, but it is somewhat involved to pull off so you won't always manage it.

bonewitch posted:I'm really bad at crafting, what makes Wheel so good and how would I go about using it generally You get 0 good procs and spend 54 CP for 10 durability. Serious answer: it restores durability based on your number of Whistle stacks. 11-9 grants 10 durability, 8-4 grants 20 durability, 3-1 grants 30 durability. If you actually get enough goods to get the stacks that low, and offset the cost of Whistle by using Satisfaction, it is an insanely cheap durability increase. Are you willing to trust the RNG to assume you'll get any goods, though? Ryanbomber fucked around with this message at 16:26 on Jul 26, 2015 |

I don't know about 2-star crafting since that's a little beyond my capabilities yet, but generally you can count on getting at least 2 good procs, at which point I consider it to have been worth the CP cost (2 procs will let you use Satisfaction to restore 15 CP, then use Wheel to regain 20 durability). Anything beyond that is gravy. There are those rare synths where you go through 25 steps with no goods... but they are pretty rare pre-60, thankfully.

Are there any good guides out there for which Leves to use if you want to try and hammer your way to 50 for a given crafter/gatherer classes efficiently as possible? I have a whole lot of Leve allowances, a bit of gil, and not much patience for grinding out crafting/gathering.

I'd say I can get to step 25 without more than one good proc (and two is really the magic number here) something like half the time.

Pikachu posted:When running level 50 content that syncs to i110, am I better off wearing my normal i170+ gear or should I have a set of i110 gear? It depends. Most dungeons have a negligible accuracy cap, so wear whatever gear you have that's 110+ and gives the best stats. It will all be synced down as an HQ 110 item with regards to stat caps, so you can have a set of gear for level synced stuff that has a better stat allocation than what you might have with your 170 set.

I'd be happy with Reprisal and Living Dead getting some tweaks. Like that's honestly it, it's a fine like, middle-of-the-road tank with a focus on magic damage reduction and it's clear they're tuning coming content for it. As for Machinist, I feel like it's too easy for the turret to get lost in the chaos of a fight while you're focusing on all your buttons/mechanics. I'd like some kind of notification if it's out of range/destroyed (like honestly even a ground aoe indicator when I place it/target it would be nice so i have a visual approximation of its range). Additionally hypercharge needs to be a bit more noticable since the debuff icon will often get lost in the mess and people won't know it's up unless you're specifically telling them it is which is hard to do in some situations if you play with a controller/don't have mumble with a DF/PF group or w/e. This is just for regular hypercharge, promoted hypercharge is noticable enough. Machinist itself is kinda rad however, I'm having a lot of fun with it. So this is driving me absolutely nuts, but my mouse cursor in-game just got bigger and I can't figure out how to decrease the size of it again. I'm aware of the cursor size option, but the "normal" setting is massive now and I can't seem to revert it back to the original look. Anyone know how to fix this?
