Getting brunch is more important to me than other peoples lives.
Emerson got his new girlfriend!

She's teeny-tiny, still being bottle fed. She looks a little shell-shocked but I guess that's to be expected considering her long trip to join Miller's Safe Haven. I'm surprised they have taken so well to each other so soon. I really hope it works out for these two--Emerson fell in love with the last disabled cat that shared his stroller, and we were all so sad when she passed.

He's actually still quite small! He was the runt of the litter, and if we hadn't taken him in, the shelter was going to put him down for being underweight. So he was hand-reared, but never got very big. He is very fluffy though!

In humans, sudden problems controlling extremities accompanies by asymmetric problems with the facial muscles basically screams "stroke." I don't know if that really helps. :smith:

quote:

At the Cape Pembrokeshire Nature Reserve in the Falkland Islands, a very unlikely friendship has occurred between a herd of horses and a lost penguin.

After becoming separated from its friends, the penguin was ‘adopted’ by the horses as one of their own and now lives side by side with the horses on the island. But don’t feel too bad for the lost penguin – the Falklands has around 500,000 breeding pairs of penguins on the island so this little guy will easily find a mate if he wishes. For now, though, it looks like he’s found a few new friends to keep him entertained until he’s ready to settle down!

They came like that. The shelter didn't know if they were named after Science or Muppets. I feel like if I get another animal, it has to run with one of those themes now, though.

Horse: Oh yeah, and go where? Where are we gonna go?

Penguin: I'll tell you where. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Aspen.

Horse: Oh, I don't know, Penguin. The French are assholes.

Yep! Because of his health issues, he can't afford an infection, so the T-shirts and onesies prevent chafing from his wheelchair or catheter.

The pictures were taken the same day that we took her home.

WELL THAT JUST HAPPENED!

I remember watching this nature documentary that included a species of bird that are practically adults when they hatch. The doc showed the chick hatch and it's like half the size of his/her parents, and right after hatching it just scampers off into the woods.

I know this might not be the perfect thread, but does anyone else know what I'm talking about?
