As if he didn't understand what was being said to him. He is an oaf but not a complete idiot. He has spent a lot of time in India and you tend to pick up the swears pretty quickly. He was doing it (imo) to annoy Rohit Sharma and to get him to swear in front of the umpire like an internet troll trying to lure someone into being banned.

Also, what triggered this was a hugely unsporting bit of cricket from the Indian batsmen. Warner said something like "I say that is a bit unsporting" and Rohit Sharma went mental with abuse. Now Warner did cross a line and should have been suspended for it but he was also in the right to question the Indian batsmen for running off a deflection. EDIT I might be wrong and it might be that the Australians only thought it deflected off Sharma's pad. I am trying to track down a video because I am just going off memory. Either way Warner was fine questioning what he thought was a bit of unsporting cricket. It is like questioning a batsman for not walking.
