So there's an interesting piece of art from the glossary that suggests just this:  It's part of a gallery entry on something called Solipsis that is in fact about humans and Genom theoretically being able to merge. I think in principle it probably happened in the past and the physical traits are passed on.

Happened in Ciel IIRC. Ion and her pet dragon Telefunken merged at one point. Incidentally, Telefunken was part of the scouting party stranded on Ar Ciel.

If you go "deep" into AT canon, there is so much wrong with this part of the game that it comes off as an incredibly lazy/sleazy attempt at geeking out the longtime fans, but they clearly didnt pay too much attention to their own worldbuilding from the past games.

I think the notion of a "canon" for the Ar-series, which revolves around entering metaphorical representations of magical song-singing router girls' psyches and helping them their mental issues and features multiple mutually-exclusive endings for each game, is farcical because world-building and inter-title consistency don't really matter in the Ar-series games. Or any media, really. A brief noting of where they don't exactly mesh together, when the rift between the games actually appears, would be interesting. However, going "There is so much wrong with this part of the game! Clearly the developers never even read their world-building stuff from the previous games, the freaking morons!" before the disconnect even shows up, is boorish geekery in the vein of loudly talking about how dumb some upcoming part of a movie is because it totally contradicts some other prior source and the director only included it as a cheap bone tossed to fans of the source material and glancing around looking for approving grins from your fellow theater-goers. And I think it's totally reasonable to look at where they hosed up in regards to what they'd previously said about the past in Ar Tonelicos. There certainly are inconsistencies, though one obvious explanation given the parallel dimensions stuff they talk about is that we're not in fact on the same Ar Ciel that was in Ar Tonelico. Well it's definitely not quite as bad as 'dying in here means you really die' because otherwise Zill wouldn't have fragged Nelo, who's pretty load-bearing to her plans. You could probably safely assume the Ribo Pandemics is a lie anyway, it is Zill after all. I'm hoping to update tomorrow, but I've got a meeting I'm super stressing out about on Friday and I need to get some stuff done for it that has to take priority over writing. Yeah that's not what this level is about. We are in fact actively trying to destroy the level because a resolution where we figure this poo poo out with Zill is totally impossible. In principle insolvable levels like this are impossible because you can't normally Chain with people and form a level if you're not friends of some sort. But since Zill forced her way in now we've got a level that shouldn't exist that something needs to be done about.

The thing about Zill is that she more or less had her character arc in Ciel. What's also interesting is that this character arc only served to make her even more delusional and crazy than when she started out. Kind of like what happened to Infel in a way actually.

One thing of note, if you look there it actually claims to come from Nelo. I’m not sure that’s actually an error, she is part of the Maternal Overseer right now and we couldn’t actually do this level before she got eaten. Also I want to say there might be a no-Prime version of Sarly 2 if you get her killed here before you do it? Hmm, I think that’s plenty of Diving for now. So Cass knows the stuff Delta was forced to do through Interdimend or whatever the cause of opening the barrier was, which was over two years ago at this point, mind, was not actually his doing, yet she still feels the need to get angry at and punish him for it once she has the ability to really do so. You're losing me here, Cass. You're becoming a bad character. Well, maybe "character" isn't the right word now. You're becoming a bad stereotype of an already-bad archetype.

Well remember that's not really her, it's the part of her personality that overlaps most with Zill. And if you read into what happens at the chest, in spite of what she said she probably did what she did because she was convinced Delta would leave her forever when he saw how 'worthless' she is (though that exists entirely in her mind).

Agreed, the Cass at a deep, subconcious level of Genometrics/Cosmosphere, twinned with a sociopath who has a messiah/god complex and is currently trying to tang everyone on the ship, in a dive dedicated to opposition, conflict, and betrayal, should be operating solely on the fundamentals of pure logic in decisions and feelings regarding someone she loves. People have emotions and tend to act irrationally when things happen about and to the people they care about instead of being soulless, purely rational automota even when they're in full posession of their faculties; that knowing something consciously may not filter down into the core of individual's psyche? That's impossible, the character must just be an archetype I dislike. Less mordaciously, humans are not purely rational existences. Even if Cass here wasn't some sort of emotion-spirit-hybrid acting within her subconscious while bonded to Anime Space Mengele, I'd say that her given justifications for her actions are irrational and not logically sound, but her irrationality and unsoundness about Delta's abduction and his actions afterward are understandable and humanizing. Cass has gone through some serious poo poo, and it's not unusual for people who go through serious poo poo to have some sort of scarring from their experiences. The problem is that Zill has been presented as relentlessly, apologetically evil at every turn so I have a hard time believing any character feels anything other than revulsion towards her at any level. I know this is supposed to be subconscious and express inner turmoil but even then Zill has hosed everybody else over way, way harder than any of them hosed each other over. I thought Delta opening the barrier was all Zill's work, so even at this level Cass should be fundamentally opposed to everything Zill does.

So the thing is that at her core Cass actually agrees with one of Zill's core beliefs. Zill doesn't think humans have any value, and Cass agrees with that in respect to her self.
