Just watched Harris/Shields and holy loving lmao. Even aside from the finish I thought that was a pretty riveting fight. When Palheres bumped out of mount into that heel hook attempt at the end of the 2nd I felt my butthole pucker. I thought the advice to stay standing with Shields in the third was pretty brilliant, and even though they were both getting tired I think that definitely facilitated the finish, still can't believe it was a kimura.

Jake did better than i expected in the grappling, I really thought palhares would be harder for him to control. Ended about how I expected, and we can all agree that the fight doesn't count due to severe cheating

The refusal to release discussion is getting really strange, with nerds taking stop watches to it (he cranks it exactly 1.83 seconds after the ref intervenes!). Really I think that the key here is that, however long he holds it, or however you measure the length of the cranking, is that Palhares cranks it deeper as a response to Shields's tapping, and continues to go deeper as the ref is trying to intervene for those 1.8311325 seconds. In conclusion, make Palhares fight Maia somehow.

Palhares could end up stalling with Maia in an MMA fight and that wouldn't go anywhere good. And in general Maia isn't a hostile dude at all. If you want to punish Palhares you have him fight Lombard over and over again until he decides to retire from all the KOs. As much as Lombard sucks he's always gonna be the worst matchup for Palhares and he's just as much of an angry retarded shithead.
