Does that look cramped as gently caress to anyone else? That passenger seat looks like it barely fits in there. I've never been inside a Hummer but I always assumed there would be a ton of room. Instead you get this massive center console for some reason??

It's a weird space for sure, although I remember it having plenty of room. The huge center console is nice to throw stuff on. I guess it might play with your perception though.

The center console is so huge because the engine is halfway in the passenger compartment right? Those things are basically front-mid engined due to how much space the suspension takes up.

The console is like that because the transmission/drivetrain are right there:

Before I watched the video I was looking at those things on the site, they're only like $4500, so I assume really beat to poo poo. Looks like it would be an awesome platform to build a camper on. Would want to stick to fairly short trips, but it would be so great for skiing/mtb trips/hunting etc around here (western MT).

Doccers' Volvo looks pretty cozy already, with some reworking I could easily see myself camping in something like that.

Visited an old high school bud after like 15 years away, he had this just chilling in the garage.

He convinced me to drive it, I get a little weird about driving other dude's babies because everyone likes to treat their clutch a little differently but I'm glad I did it. It just flies and builds up a lot of speed in a big loving hurry.

I was disappointed that they didn't have some of the military diesel KLRs there.

Then again.. "The balancing system that is used in the gasoline KLR650 engines (to reduce engine vibration) was removed from the military diesel KLR engines." :stare:

I found them to be very slightly cramped. The tunnel still makes your seating area a bit narrow and the seats don't go back quite far enough for my legs. I'm 6'4" 250lbs

With a few of those things you could turn parts of Detroit, or other rust-belt cities, into a real life wacky racers. The added gunfire, pot holes, and roaming shopping carts only add natural booby-traps!

Probably several times more awful than the curve-carving precision of, say, an M35. At least with a giant six wheel military truck, the axles don't move side-to-side relative to the body. Or at least, not much. If the body moved towards the inside edge it might be cool, but it goes the opposite direction and looks to me like body roll on acid.

Given how the camber swings all over the place, you probably can't mount anything but bike tires on that. Plus the track not only moves side to side but also shrinks and extends back to front, so the tire loads must be wonderfully unpredictable.
It's amazing to watch but i can't for the life of me figure out what it's trying to solve. The wheels swing all over the place but it doesn't actually seem to have any real suspension travel, so moving at any real speed offroad is out. Rock crawler ATV maybe ? But the ground clearance is pretty bad, and trying to place a wheel in a specific place seems rather difficult to say the least.

New Miata vs BRZ comparison:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLtw2z_mZ6w

TLDW spoiler Mazda wins. Toyobaru has more precise handling, powertrain isn't as good; Miata has more body roll but lighter weight - when you're not going all out it's more playful and fun, and when you are, it's faster.
