It's great to see policy difference be highlighted between the leaders and so this segment about the clairity act between Mulcair and Trudeau has been great.

I know that Mulcair wants to hear the number from Trudeau because he has the winning side of the issue in Quebec. I really wonder if this segment will make any difference to people outside of Quebec.

Honestly I think it has more to do with being Green than a woman.

They are still loony about the environment.
It might be both. Their mainstream policies aren't particularly loony, or at least no more loony one way than the other parties' policies are loony the other. No one's touching nuclear. Few are talking seriously about phasing out gas. Most politicians love pipelines. Why aren't they loony? I think one of the reasons her gaffes get so much airtime is because she is a woman, though. Bob Rae was on CBC earlier worrying that she would be "shrill" in the debate.

Whiskey Sours posted:

Can it be both?
Not the way I see people talk about her, no.

Lassitude posted:

Her party opposes nuclear and she retweeted poo poo about chemtrails.

She's been the strongest this debate though I think. Her opposition to pipelines out-of-hand was her first major weak point I'd say.
Does any party support nuclear? She didn't endorse that tweet.

Sovy Kurosei posted:

She was also against Wifi and doubled down when called out on it.
She posted sources saying what she said they did. Her position was that proper study is important. Obviously she didn't fully comprehend the extent of research on wi-fi, but research/study is not a bad policy in general.

Anyway, I'm not voting Green so I'm not going to defend May past that. I was mostly annoyed that so many people were dumbfounded that she had a brain, despite a pretty strong record.
