Yeah judging by what he's been posting in the past year (or so?) his family has been having some kind of troubles with their place of residence, if I haven't completely misunderstood. It just seems like he's in a particularly unfortunate situation right now and probably went with "farewell" because a) he doesn't know when he's coming back b) ...well, we all know how good he is with words.
