Deaders, do you do a lot of work in post? I like the colours you manage to get in your shots on your flickr, but I'm more impressed at your ability to actually get up and take photos so early so often haha.

So i went through my backlog of photos and I came across this one that for some reason i never finished processing. Did I go overboard with the saturation? Backlog - Sunset over Ecola by Jenseales, on Flickr

I like it, I think a little more sky would help balance it.

So, I've only just gotten myself my first camera that isn't a disposable or my phone. Kinda nervous about posting pictures, but I love taking tons when I hike and I guess they should go somewhere. Here are two from a recent stroll outside of town: If anyone's got any feedback, that'd be cool I guess. I figure now's the time to break lovely habits Alehkhs fucked around with this message at 10:00 on Aug 12, 2015 |

Thats a really cool spot. The lake looks a little weird though, maybe put it on a third?

A Saucy Bratwurst posted:Thats a really cool spot. The lake looks a little weird though, maybe put it on a third? Yeah. I wasn't entirely sure how to approach that, as I was in a specific spot. Does it work a bit better like this? Wafflecopper posted:Sort those horizons out I assume you mean getting everything level? Both of those pictures were actually taken level, it's the clouds and mountains that are screwy as far as I can tell. What do you do in that situation, just fudge it? Is this a bit better? Benson Resurrection by Alexander Havens, on Flickr Seriously though, thanks for the input guys! I live in a place I love to take pictures of, so I hope I can keep sharing things here. alkanphel posted:That's one hell of a stroll! Yeah - it's a 5000ft peak just outside of town and one of my favorite day hikes. In this instance though, it obviously wasn't exactly a "day" hike - I got delayed up top by having to call some people about a WWII-era piece of artillery I stumbled upon. Glad I got to see the sunset though! With the way the clouds flowed down into the bay for the sunset, I actually got a pretty neat effect during one portion of the descent: Firey Fog in the Blue by Alexander Havens, on Flickr Alehkhs fucked around with this message at 10:01 on Aug 12, 2015 |

Thats an awesome place to live. Maybe try crop a bit more of the sky out to get the mountain line along a third? Actually I think that cropping most of the sky out would improve it, atleast in my tastes, quite a lot.

Actually I think that cropping most of the sky out would improve it, atleast in my tastes, quite a lot. Ah. Yeah, I think in my mind I went "let's cut everything in half! " but you're right. With the mountains at the top third, and the "arch" of rock on the lower, there's definitely a difference. Sunset Pool by Alexander Havens, on Flickr Anyways - thanks again for the feedback.
