Maggie Fletcher posted:WHAT IS THIS MOISTURE FALLING FROM MY EYES. Aw, thanks! I don't talk about my little cat much, and I won't here just now anymore, as it's too painful. My neighbours and the local cat home are the real stars, though -- Gus was brought in by the care worker of his original owner. His original owner was developmentally disabled, but still had Gus from kittenhood. He spent the first five years of his life confined to her one-room flat, and only eating human junkfood. She alternated from over-cuddling him to hitting him; she brought him in to the cat shelter to be put down because 'he was too ugly.' (It's his eye -- one of his tear ducts was torn in kittenhood, so his face is a bit stained; it still runs sometimes, but he's not in pain or ill.) The original owner was given a court order against any future pet ownership. On the plus side, he's now fat and fruity, and I know from having seen it, his supper dish looks like this *I* would eat out of bowl system shaped like a fish. Here's Gus chilling with Mr Attila's old ratty catty

Drink and Fight posted:Not sure but you might have left your real name in this post? Heh -- no, that's Mr Boods's handle elsewhere. Although I could really be Mrs A T Hun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-x6FBuF4JM Meanwhile, I can't help it; I keep a window open to the Tiny Kittens during the work day, because it's amazing how quickly I can go from to chill just by clicking over to it There's two of them -- a domestic cat who had five (which is the one I've linked to) http://livestream.com/tinykittens/tip but she's also helping out at the milk bar with a feral (8 kittens, but one died) being cared for http://livestream.com/tinykittens/sisko It's really interesting seeing the difference between these two cat-mums; the feral is completely wild and just utterly terrified and constantly wary, while the domestic one (who was abandoned whilst pregnant) basks in the luxury of the shelter's amenities and attention from the various carers. The feral wasn't nursing her kittens originally because she was so worried about predators, so they've been placing them in with the domestic; the first time the feral kitten got hold of the domestic's milk, they drank themselves into little kitty comas edited to add Tip's kittens have open eyes! Also there are some seriously fat potatoes there considering they're only a little over two weeks old. [This live feed is the only thing keeping me from leaping into the car and going into school to throttle various colleagues and students this morning, so bear with me). Ms Boods posted:Here's a picture of him to make up for lack of pictures in the story This is really the sweetest thing reminds me of when my parents first got their dachshund as a puppy years ago, we kept her in the kitchen gated off until she was house trained. She'd cry at night and usually me or my mom would go down and sit with her, just playing and tiring her out so she'd sleep. She ended up being the sweetest, most social and friendly dog we've ever had (even if she was a total coward around rabbits in the back yard).
