It sounds like Snoop pretty much pushed him to be a football player his whole life so the kid is taking his chance to finally quit. He's still staying in school so good for him.

Yeah that part's a bit unfortunate, but I imagine actually arriving at school (I believe he was enrolled during the summer) and seeing how big of a commitment it is did a lot to push him over the edge and make him go "Ok yeah I definitely don't want to do this." And while it's borderline reading tea leaves, I'm not too shocked by this after watching his commitment ceremony on signing day. Kid looked like he wanted to be anywhere else while Snoop was loving it. ESPN ended up interviewing Cordell for like 15 seconds before asking to talk to his dad and then spent like 2 minutes talking to him while his son just kind of awkwardly stood behind him.
