My least favorite map is Kelp Dome. Too narrow, yet too open.

Ranking was tough tonight. Splat Zones was 50-50, with one match seeing my side losing because my team seemed hellbent on squidjumping to the center area controlled by the other team - all ignoring my beacons. Tower Control was fine when were playing Camp Triggerfish, but the Skatepark? Oh boy. Nothing seemed to go right there. Whilst I was flushing some charger out, my team bumbled around in confusion, waiting for SOMEONE to ride the tower. And the bitter fights near the ends... Frustrating. I need to invest in quick spawn gear.

I hate anyone using a .96 gal, a Splattershot Pro, or a Krak-On Splat Roller. Also the charger does not need to have an extremely visible laser sight when there are weapons that can kill at similar ranges faster than it takes to charge it. Thank you for your time.

oopsie rock posted:I love the Aerospray but I have a hard time winning close combat battles with it. I use the Splattershots almost exclusively now because I can more reliably take people out when I'm making an aggressive push. (Although now I'm using the N-Zap for Rainmaker mode since it has Echolocator.) For me, it kind of depends on the mode. In turf wars, I use whatever strikes my fancy. But in ranked mode, where things matter (lol) I tend to stick with weapons I know I'm good at. The RG's good for splat zones because it can fill in areas quickly, and the inkstrike has obvious benefits. Mines are a little tricky to use but surprisingly effective and it's sooooo satisfying to get kills with them. I used the RG almost exclusively from when I got it to the old max rank, though, so I know it like the back of my hand. For tower control and rainmaker, I like something with more accuracy and range, like the tentatek. Getting the one guy who's on/with the objective is more important than filling in an area in those modes. Rocketlex posted:I only like Kelp Dome in Turf War because there are all these little alcoves for getting in one-on-one duels. It feels like an old Goldeneye map. My problem with Kelp Dome is that people focus on the middle and completely forget about the alcoves and the spawn. Which means I frequently have to be Johnny-on-the-spot and do my team's jobs for them. Caerulius posted:Gals are cool. They are, indeed. Yesterday I wiped out 3/4 of the enemy team with one sustained burst. That was my halfpipe, goddammit, and they weren't getting in without permission.

Getting as close to 10 points to rank up, then getting plummeted down 14 points by a 1 point loss in overtime the exact moment I cleared the tower made me scream at my screen. The following points stand. 1 - I need to do something else. 2 - I hate tower control a lot. I have a good strategy for the maps currently on rotation, I frequently kill and cut off a lot of people going for the tower, and then I turn around and see one guy inking the spawn, or a guy with a splatling gun who, 9 times out of 10 will miss his mark; and my favorite - the guy who goes explodes into vapor while the spawning ritual plays.

My favourite part of Squid Squads was when me and my buddies who were, respectively, A+, B+, B- and C+, got matched continually against teams formed entirely of S+ and S ranked Japanese players. I lost my A+ rank, all 30 points of it, 2 points at a time. What is wrong with matchmaking.

Don't start aiming a charger until it's fully charged, then you can just point and shoot. Otherwise you give yourself away. It's a small price to pay considering chargers are the only hitscan weapons in the whole game!

Say thread, what does it mean when "Danger!" flashes up next to your team icons during Turf War? It's the kind of small question that's occurred to me every other week since the game came out, and I've never figured it out.

Counter-counterpoint: Chargers are well-balanced with the other weapon types - players good with them can use them very effectively, while players not-so-good with them are not-so-effective. I keep trying to get good with chargers but keep sucking at them instead. I've done a bit okay with the Squiffers though. Parasol Prophet posted:Say thread, what does it mean when "Danger!" flashes up next to your team icons during Turf War? The squid icons at the top of the screen indicate which team is currently in the lead - the larger the squids the further in the lead a team is, and the smaller the squids the more that team is falling behind. "Danger" is the lowest level of small, meaning that team is in trouble unless they turn things around. e: f,b - Cialis Railman nailed it.

If you're curious about EXACTLY what the Danger sign means, it pops up in Turf War when one team is ten percent behind in coverage than the other. So it's not the end of the world, but when it pops up on your side you need to get it in gear!

I saw an extremely effective charger awhile back who would ride the tower on Arowana Mall, sniping our sorry asses as we swam towards them. Offense-minded chargers are cool. Scared ones, not so much.

I'm down to prove chargers have what it takes to not only support, but carry teams as well. Challenge me, fools!

All day today I've been wavering between B and B+ - I stomp my way through B, almost never losing, then soon as I hit B+ it's just a massive string of losses until I'm back to B, then the cycle continues. Obviously B+ should be harder than B, but I figured it would be a gradual change rather than a big sudden you're-not-allowed-to-win-now change.
