The wide positions isn't somewhere we're hurting for depth, Memphis, Young, Januzaj, Valencia, Mata etc. Hopefully van Gaal learns from last night and realises Rooney behind a striker is a decent option instead of stubbornly playing him up top regardless of his performances. The attack was immediately more dangerous with Rooney able to play deeper with Hernandez's movement taking defenders away from him.

That alleged Pedro signing seems kind of strange and smells a bit of panic after that drubbing by City... Chelsea already have loads of quality wingers. I thought they were rather strong there. Am I missing something or is it just the rich buying because they can? E: I guess Salah is off to Roma. I forgot about that. Massive upgrade there for depth.

Pedro will be good for depth, that's why it's weird to me that he is leaving Barca because I assume it's about playing time. I get wanting a different challenge but that hasn't really been his claim in the media that i've seen. He would struggle to hold a starting spot at any of the projected top 4 teams.
