I mean I'm dumb and I'd eat one anyway just to say "yeah, I did it because I'm not a wussy" but there's a point where its so hot you're defeating the purpose of spicing your food. I'd keep some alkaline solution handy to flush my mouth out afterwards because fuuuuuuuck that noise Code Jockey posted:I had some absolutely amazing roasted garlic with dinner a few weeks ago, like I dunno they roasted it in the skin and it just came out as these little perfectly roasted cloves in the skin still but cut open so I could dig them out, they were spreadable consistency and oh my god Yeah...yeah!!! Garlic is the poo poo Same with onions Savior of bland meals everywhere and requires no spice or hot. Mongolian BBQ rules if its not too greasy. Lots of garlic and ginger and hot juice over lamb + veggies Gonna have to hit that up tomorrow. Minarchist has a new favorite as of 07:18 on Aug 19, 2015 |

Oh I can have garlic in like, normal amounts, but having like a half loaf of garlic bread will give me a pretty rancid stomach ache for about 5 or 6 hours. It's not all bad, I mean, I didn't use to love slathering my bread for sandwiches with garlic butter... Nope...

Fishstick posted:Insect related food things are trending here. You can find 'insect burgers' or 'insect meatballs' in random city supermarkets. I've tried the insect 'burgers' and they're pretty good - it's no beef burger, but it'll do. I once talked to the salesperson trying to make me taste bug pesto in a Belgian supermarket and asked what was the percentage of bugs in their products, because I genuinely think it's a good idea to reduce our meat consumption. He said it was less than 3%. When I asked him why not more he said that they were afraid that putting more bugs in them was going to disgust the purchaser. what a ridiculous reasoning. It says "bugs" right on the packaging if someone buys this he knows very well he's eating bugs. That's the whole point. As long as they don't make this more than a stupid marketing gimmick they won't get my support.

PCOS Bill posted:Actually I think you'll find sushi is vinegared rice. *shudders* I believe bill is right. Sushi refers to seasoned rice. Sashimi is raw fish sliced thin, Maki is rolled, nigiri is a square with topping, "ships" are a more westernised concept. Deep frying and so on is a more modernist Japanese concept with regard to sushi but gently caress it's delicious. Normally I'm a total sushi hitler, I love the flavor of good salmon nigiri and just plain sashimi or fish + rice + seaweed, but the sushi place I frequent makes a tempura salmon roll that is just unbelievable and I order it maybe once a month because otherwise it'd kill me. The frying changes the texture of the rice, it's interesting. And really loving good
