Not particularly amazing. Requires a bit of setup and I'm not sure I'd run 2 of it anyway.

It's a million times better than companies that give a lot of "Gencon only" crap. For years I had to deal with buying expensive promos off ebay for L5R because AEG would reward the people who are already lucky enough to go to Gencon and play in the tournaments there. I can live without some Alt Art cards or a playmat, but missing out on potentially competitive cards because I couldn't afford to fly out to the middle of bum gently caress Indiana to play cards; gently caress THAT.

Also when FFG does release stuff at Gencon it's a prerelease and not legal to use until the street date, so it's not really a big deal.

I can't believe there's 2 Lost Masters in the freaking pod, that's ridiculous. Way back when this cycle was first previewed, I flipped my poo poo over that card and declared it the best card previewed at the time. Enforced Loyalty seems pretty drat good.

Tarkin Doctrine seems ok. Seems like it might be advance meta in the form of Moment of Triumph but until we see some stuff that really hoses Jedi, LS doesn't care too much about this card. Compared to how useful Desperation was/is, Moment of Triumph comes up pretty short.

Brothers of the Sith seems meh.

Honor Among Thieves is so so.

Planning the Rescue is probably another one of these wacky Rebel sets that seems cool then never gets any other objectives that support it and becomes a coaster.

bringin The Gate in on a community building league this week. running some weirdo decks that probably won't work.

Affiliation:
Imperial Navy

Objective: (10)
2x Imperial Command (Core 26-1)
2x The Ultimate Power (Core 28-1)
2x The Dark Trooper Project (Heroes and Legends 101-1)
2x Family Connections (Between the Shadows 140-1)
2x The Last Grand Admiral (Chain of Command 164-1)

Officers and Troopers. I mostly wanted to try out Thrawn. Tarkin is there for Superlaser Blast and for making people choose wisely about their Imperial Discipline.

Affiliation:
Smugglers and Spies

Objective: (10)
2x Wookiee Life Debt (Edge of Darkness 69-1)
2x Escape from Ord Mantell (Edge of Darkness 75-1)
2x Against All Odds (Lure of the Dark Side 103-1)
2x A Wookiee’s Journey (It Binds All Things 119-1)
2x The Smuggler’s Gambit (Attack Run 158-1)

I really want to make Escape from Ord Mantell work. Interested in trying Platt O'Keefe / holding all the cards.

Okay, so a major tourney is approaching and I need to get my poo poo together. My LS is

Jedi

2x The secret at Shantipole
2x A Hero's Resolve
2x Rogue Squadron Assault
2x Called to Arms
2x Hoth Operations

It began life as something quickly slapped together to test out Keyan and rebel Luke (the latter eventually got the axe) and turned out to be actually pretty awesome. The deck has a lot of fancy synergies and is both good and flexible - it can swarm, it can ehance singular units into formidable solo threats, and if it somehow did not maintain the tempo it can set up a one mean Desperation fleet. The weaknesses are obviously the abysmal Force capability (though with Desperation it's not necessarily a bad thing) and the possibility of stumbling when beginning with neither Shantipole nor a resource with hand.

I never really felt the need to change anything about it, but I'm sort of tempted to slot in 1xDoY4. Nevertheless, I have a hard time of parting with anything in here.

When it comes to the DS, I'm still a bit lost. Two things I don't want to do is run are boring old vader-palpatine-counsel trinity and plain tie/black squadron decks (I did the latter for most of this cycle and need a change).

I've tried slapping something together with Nar Shaddaa Drift, but so far I'm at the stage of having both classic S&V unfocused mess and being precariously geared towards vehicle hate. A shame.

My work in progress Navy is:

2x Imperial Command
1x The Ultimate Power
2x Death and Despayre
1x A Dark Time for the Rebellion
1x Imperial Blockade
1x Repair and Refurbish
2x The Last Grand Admiral

(1x Tarkin and Starck are basically in the Thunderdome. Starck lost, but I think I like Tarkin as just 1-of)

It's actually not that bad. It's not serious-tournament-good either. I think the concept of officers + capital ships may have some potential, though. The main synergies I see are:
- Virtually guaranteed fodder for a surprise Apology Accepted.
- Thrawn, (possibly) a bunch of tactic-having officers and a lot of cheap guns between Last Grand Admiral and Imperial Command provide some defensive capability capital ship decks traditionally lack.
- Motti can help with Capital's being buried under tactics.
- Needa and Imperial Officer have a chance to survive and do their job for once.

I'll probably try slotting in The Emperor's Sword in place of both Thunderdome sets for the next iteration, but I'd be glad to hear what DS people are running at the moment, since fiddling with capital ships is pretty scrub tier after all.

Anyone had luck with Nar Shaddaa Drift? The set looks cool, but I had little luck making a coherent deck out of it.

My best bet is probably mixing it in a TIE deck, to give it some much-needed tactics (probably along with Boba if I'm going green anyway). There are some annoying anti-synergies though, with the swoop being un-Fel-able and no real targets for Black Market Exchange. Perhaps the swoops would work better as capital ship escorts or something?

One idea I saw was combining it with The Droid's Task, providing disposable droids to burn and a nasty target for the exchange. This is intriguing, but I'm not sure how to best follow it up, given going for the Force as Scum in current Jedi meta seems rather unwise.

[edit] Howabout this for a first, untested draft:

1x The Bespin Exchange (Core 33-1)
2x The Droid’s Task (It Binds All Things 121-1)
2x “No Disintegrations” (Between the Shadows 134-1)
2x Masterful Manipulation (Between the Shadows 135-1)
1x The Best That Credits Can Buy (Between the Shadows 137-1)
2x Nar Shaddaa Drift (Chain of Command 165-1)

This works well with a couple of them. All out Brawl sounds pretty good with it, you can also use IG-88's set to get those assassin droids that get Targeted Strike if nobody is on the force and you can equip the knife on them too.

Corellian Corvette is already a great capital ship, although neutral not Rebel but the pod is Rebel so close enough. Two in the pod is really nice. Blast icons, hand replenishment and a good bit of damage capacity. They're proving really solid in our decks so far.

The Corvettes have been really solid, but I keep getting surprised with how useful the Resupply Depot has been. Two of the set has proven useful so far, even if I don't want to see that many Corvettes. It's always great to see the Independence early and pump out Capital Ships for cheap. Took Alderaan's Promise out for a spin, too. Still not all that great, probably, but I've always liked it. With the alt-art Admiral Ackbar, I've been experimenting with that set again, as well. All these new vehicles have made it pretty useful, and I really like having a two resource objective in the deck.
