It's less that a spoiler-y trailer tells you exactly what happens right then and there. But more that it shows you a lot of shots that, while watching the movie, you start remembering and filling in the blanks with.

It's sad, but Kiimo will attest to this; the studios know what they're doing and they don't give a poo poo if they spoil the movie for you. The trailers are designed to put butts in seats, and there are way more idiot hellfucker "Yee haw 'spolsions!!!!" movie goer butts than there are intelligent movie lover butts.
