I always expected to have to rewind after checking people's computers right in front of them, but nobody gives a poo poo. Or at least I hope they don't. The game could always pull an Earthbound and everyone will bring it up near the end as a reason why Max Caufield is just the worst.

I'm really curious how they'll even start episode 5, but it's pretty uncomfortable to think about. Jefferson's clearly planning to kill her eventually, she knows too much, but maybe he plans to stage it or make it look like an accident somehow? If he was only going to kill her Jefferson would've shot her along with Chloe, so maybe he needs to interrogate her first to find out what she knows and where she's keeping the evidence. It's also the only chance Max would have to wake up and escape, so assuming that's going to happen with the player's involvement it probably has to happen. There's the threat of another photoshoot, although going by what happened to Kate they might keep Max under for that so there's not much chance for the player to do anything - I'm also unsure if they'd go through with putting a scene like that in the game, playing through it could be too dark (although that stinger preview for episode 5 was dark as gently caress). Even letting it happen might be too much, maybe failing to escape before they put Max back under would be a game over or a forced rewind back to the start of the interrogation. A rescue or intervention doesn't seem certain. I guess if Frank's alive and friendly he might return to the barn to find out what's going on, if David's still in the house he could find the evidence in Chloe's room. Warren seems drugged and doesn't have any leads, Victoria's on the hit list but Jefferson and Nathan have enough on their plate that night. I guess Nathan himself could get cold feet about having to kill yet again or Jefferson might be looking to pin everything on him, and those two screwing up or fighting could give Max a way out - if they interrogate her together, using her rewind to learn things to set them against each other might be a way out. Assuming her rewind works normally, of course, and doesn't glitch out again.

Picked up the game over the weekend, and finished chapter four today. Just wanna say, I never loving trusted that loving teacher. Serious Girl with a Dragon Tattoo vibes there. Also the universe just really wants Chloe dead. My theory is, Max dies if you killed her plant.

He'll let Max come to before he kills her, Max makes a break for for the needles, rewinds so she's effectively teleported, jabs that sick gently caress with his own medicine, David shows up, shoots him, takes Max to the cops, once she finally gets back to Blackwell she finds Warren, uses the photo to warn Chloe, *STUFF HAPPENS*, *TORNADO HAPPENS*, everyone dies except Max and Chloe because they're already halfway to Portland, where the Dream of the 90's is alive and your flannel shirt still looks fly. So when Max finds the owl in the barn (if you bother to find it that is) I was disappointed that there was no Twin Peaks reference, but after thinking about it, the whole thing is a meta-reference, in Twin Peaks we are told by the cosmos "The owls are not what they seem." The first owl we meet is right before going into the Dark Room, on the Prescott estate, we think it's the den of Nathan, this turns out not to be true. The second owl is encountered at the junk yard before Jefferson shows his true self, the girls were going there because they thought Nathan was going to hide Rachel's body, something else that wasn't true. So, while it's obvious that Rachel is Laura Palmer, I do believe we're going to get more into Twin Peaks territory, and the Dark Room is going to turn out to be a surreal and evil place similar to the Black Lodge. Basically, chapter five is going to be a lot like the series finale of Twin Peaks (or the equally surreal movie Fire Walk With Me) Perhaps Jefferson is possesed by a dark spirit like BOB, or maybe just has the same time powers as Max, and the next episode is going to involve some insane time fuckery and jumping from one "little piece of time" to another. Another fun little theme in Twin Peaks was Laura's clothes causing Donna to act different when she wore them, Max certainly acted more brave and assertive wearing Rachel's clothes. I don't think Chloe is going to have to die to set things right (I kinda hope trying it is an ending though), as one, it's kinda cliche and lame, and two, Arcadia Bay was still going to hell in the alternate timeline where Chloe was never involved with Rachel and the Vortex dweebs. Also fun nerdy trivia, according to his book, Frank sells "skidoo acid" which is a reference to the psychedelic movie Skidoo, which features Jackie Gleason on this LSD trip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7-RNNIbPP0 Groucho Marx also plays God, no telling if that will show up in Life Is Strange though.

It might be neat if you played as someone else for the opening of episode 5, having to piece together where Max is while the player's imagination gets to work on what horrible things could be happening while they're dragging their feet. Holding off on that reveal for a bit would be very tense. Still, I feel a little iffy about Max having to be rescued by someone else, it seems like that might be a little too passive and victim-y for the player, even if the rescue is in some way determinant based on previous choices. Having to manipulate Nathan or Jefferson in an interrogation or using time travel to get out of their situation somehow would be more assertive and better subvert the creepy helplessness fetish that Jefferson puts his victims through. Frank being determinant means Max getting out of her situation can't hinge on him, David doing the rescuing might redeem his spotty track record but also kind of vindicates his paranoid surveillance and Warren shrugging off the drugs to save the day again is veering hard into knight-in-shining-armor fantasy (also Jefferson would probably murder the gently caress out of him). Victoria getting involved somehow might work, since she's another target and turning the tables on Jefferson would be good optics. I would also settle for Max saving herself Bill & Ted style by deciding to set things up in the future to help her now and those things suddenly being set up. I guess despite the drugging Warren will either be involved or you'll go to him soon after escaping since if Jefferson's been through Max's camera bag and disposed of her pictures that'd be the only available selfie to transport through (did she put some of her previous selfies in her room? Don't remember). Edit: Actually, did Max not take any pictures of the dark room when she and Chloe broke in? You'd think even if they're planning on handling it themselves a little photo evidence wouldn't hurt! Dolash fucked around with this message at 22:02 on Aug 20, 2015 |

Actually instead of Jefferson I bet the evil supernatural power is Sean Prescott, Jefferson is likely just a hired creep. I kinda see them as the Dr. Lackey and Chairman in Paprika. And since Max just got captured, I wonder if we'll get a surreal and disturbing torture scene like Paprika had... And yeah I really hope you're able to save yourself instead of being some helpless damsel. And maybe the people you didn't piss off will help you with stopping the storm somehow. And in that case I have, uh. Frank, and... the homeless lady! The homeless lady is clearly the spirit animal of Arcadia Bay, and I'm going to guess the doe is Rachel's and not Max's. Max is the chaos butterfly and Chloe is the bluejay that keeps ending up dead unless you save it.

I was going through collectibles mode to grab all the photographs, and I noticed this at Rachel's grave: More of a Chloe shirt than a Rachel one, but considering they were together, I wonder if it was a subtle hint. truck supremacy I'm p sure people have already combed over all the weird graffiti on the lighthouse path ("how long has [trust no one] been there?" especially). Wind glyphs are a weird detail to hide in such an obscure place, though, so maybe there's something to the occult theories. Unrelated: I like how even the background symbolism was setting David up to be a threat to Max.

There are a few Eye of Providence symbols littered throughout the game. I think it also appears in the diner bathroom in one of the episodes as well as in the girl's bathroom at the start of Episode One. Although nowadays often associated with freemasonry, it was originally a symbol for the all-seeing eye of God watching over humanity. So there are a number of ways it can be interpreted in Life is Strange, having significance in secret societies and conspiracies (the Vortex Club, the Prescotts), Max's role as the protector and savior of Chloe, or whatever guiding force grants Max her time traveling powers. Edit: Oh, for the glyph thing I have no idea. Thought you were talking about the dollar sign one.
