Inflammatory posted:how do you deal with them? Varies hard from weapon to weapon, but for mid-ranged stuff, there's basically 2 viable options. If you can quickly close the gap and take them out before they can get a wave off in your direction, hit 'em and move on. If you can't, retreat and try to hit them from another angle while they're not aiming for you. If you try to pick them off at mid-range, about 20% of the time you'll get lucky and hit them while they're bouncing around (if they're not continually jumping while flinging, they're not a good dynamo), and 80% of the time they'll just send out 2 waves and wipe you out. Not worth the risk unless you're nearing the end of the match and you need to push.

Yo why is this pink and purple a option for splatfest? I'm not colorblind but just had a round with it and they mixed together way too easily.

I haven't seen pink/purple yet, but I am colorblind and I have a hell of a time with pink/turquoise. Half the time I can't tell what color the ink on the ground is. I'd use the color lock option more if it didn't restrict it to only a single set of colors. I like the variety.

Minigun works pretty well for taking them on, but beyond that you have to hit them from the sides pr rear or hope your team is with it enough to keep them tied up so you can get within range. Of course I've been getting whipped by Japanese shut-ins all day so what the gently caress do I know.

Speaking of ink color, anyone else sometimes have a hard time noticing stuff moving through the darker ink shades?

Any tips for sniper rifles? I'm half decent with them on other console or PC games, but I'm bad at hitting things and colouring the map on this game.

keep in mind that you don't have to fully charge to shoot, just mash the trigger and you can rapid fire, although it won't have as much range or damage. alternatively, play a different weapon that makes me hate you less.

Pick a real weapon you disgusting coward! EDIT: But really as a person who despises snipers I can actually give you a tip; develop good map awareness. The snipers that are easy kills are the ones that tunnel vision and pay no attention to their surroundings. They are easy to ambush from behind for free kills. If you actually glance at your minimap and look for ink trails you can avoid getting killed like that. Internet Kraken fucked around with this message at 05:14 on Aug 24, 2015 |

Knowing maps is key to playing a good Charger. Also, sniping is a very small part of what you should be doing. You have the ability to cover a wide area in a small amount of time, are well suited to taking out sprinkers and beakons, and always paint paths up walls for your squidbuddies.

It was during the Arowana/Saltspray rotation. A Charger using the same weapon as me completely locked me down for all but the last couple of matches. I couldn't get near him, even after pulling every trick I had. I salute you, mysterious and good charger.

Buckets are also amazing for making paths up walls. if you're using a bucket, help your squidmates out as you pass by spots.

After using chargers for a bit and realizing how much of a pain in the rear end they are to use effectively, I have a bit of respect for people who can use them well. A bit. Anyone who says burst bombs suck, btw, hasn't had to deal with an e-liter spamming them at you every time you get close. Seem pretty drat effective to me! Smiles posted:Lol people really have it out for chargers sometimes. Yesterday on Flounder, I was on the roof picking squids off with my 3K and I guess the other team got really mad 'cause they aimed all their specials at me, one after the other (two Killer Wails, an Inkzooka and an Inkstrike). I managed to dodge them, jumped off the building and headed back to my spawn, but all four of them followed me until I got cornered in the square. Oh sure they managed to get me in the end but they ignored the rest of my team who inked up the roof and their base so we won anyways. Though I guess at some point, they stopped caring about winning and just wanted revenge. you sound really cool, my man.

Speaking of snipers, in the last Japanese Splatfest, three of the top MVPs from the winning side were Chargers. Two of which were Kelp Chargers - that's an amazing feat considering Kelp Chargers aren't much cop at close ranges due to a lack of a decent combative sub.

My top two weapons are the Kelp Splatterscope and the 3K Scope, and the Kelp's my go-to; you've got five shots per tank, charges fast enough for snap shots, the sprinkler can be a good distraction and the KIller Wail is handy for the narrower maps or the occasional 3K opponent. Lays down a hell of a lot of ink really fast too, I daresay faster than any roller. I'll pull out the 3K for certain maps, like Bluefin or Moray, solely for the range advantage, but it's only got three shots in the tank and charges sooo slooowly (though even a half-charge can splat a squid). I reckon with the 3K you're more reliant on competent teammates, so it's not as versatile as the Kelp can be. Jonas Albrecht posted:Speaking of Chargers, holy crap I got schooled today. Ooh I just had a couple of matches with a Kelp Splat Charger on the Kelp Dome/Urchin Underpass rotation, me with my Kelp Splatterscope. We sized each other up for the first few matches, then for the next few we'd rush to the centre and duel before the rest of the team showed up. Throughout the rest of the match we'd try and snipe or Killer Wail each other before focusing on anything else. We were pretty evenly matched in the end, she got me as much I as I got her, but still it was pretty fun to fight another competent charger. GG.
