For a lot of us, we had dog or cat expressions around to learn to read just as soon as we had human expressions to learn to read. That is a result of their role as companions to us, and that seems like it'd be part of why it seems so intuitive, it's just another set of smiles and frowns to us. e: why does this always happen to me

If you ask people why they own pets or have kids they'll always give a bunch of reasons like, security, companionship, legacy. But really it's about having your own tiny idiot to gently caress with.

Birds outside my window was making a buttload of noise this morning so I shot this short video (through my embarassingly dirty kitchen window). There seems to be a lot of young ones there so I guess they just learned how to fly.
